SHOULD WE STAY TOGETHER?

Q: I am so confused about my relationship. He is a darling Aquarius and I am a Taurus.
It has been on and off for 3 1/2 years. Should I just run..or hang in there for the long term goal??

A: Your Sun is in the last degrees of Taurus near the cusp of Gemini, which gives you a bit of conflict between the security needs of Taurus and the beginnings of an urge to explore a variety of experiences of Gemini. You have three planets in Taurus, including Chiron, so the Taurus influence of stability and peace is strong in your chart. Venus in your chart is in Gemini, showing a person who loves to talk to your loved ones (Gemini is ruled by Mercury) and who needs some space in relationships. With your Moon in Libra, you long to be in a real partnership, where there is harmony and peace between you and you can be a real couple. Jupiter is in Cancer in your chart, the sign of the family and nurturing others, and with Capricorn rising you are hard working and very responsible.

As a whole, your chart shows you are a person who who loves to be in a relationship and that you strongly desire to care for others and have peace in your life. Your current partner has a very different makeup. First of all, he has very little water in his chart, showing that he has difficulty channeling his emotions. He has five planets in Aquarius, which is independent and autonomous and dislikes enmeshments of any kind. Where your Taurus nature longs for the stability of a peaceful home life, his Aquarian nature demands constant excitement and change. He will never be content with those quiet evenings at home. Although you have some emotional compatibility between you, in order to sustain a long-term partnership you would both have to have a tremendous commitment to each other that would include a willingness to recognize that many of your needs cannot be met by him. Only you know if this is worthwhile.

Pluto is making a harmonious transit to your Moon this year, strengthening your sense of self and your ability to nuture yourself (the Moon teaches us what we need to feel secure and gives us the resources to accomplish this). In the fall, Pluto will approach a challenging aspect to Venus in your chart, which will create transformation and change in your relationships of all kinds. It may be that you simply need to speak up about what your needs are in the relationship and that they can then be fulfilled. He is also going through some challenging cycles right now that may be making life more difficult for him. Perhaps better communication will help both of you to bring unresolved issues into the open.

Someone very wise once said to me, "If you have to ask the question the answer is no." When a relationship is right, we have no questions. When the questions begin to arise, listen deep within your heart for the clues to what to do next. It may be that a simple adjustment is needed. If more drastic steps are required you will soon know what to do.
