My readers will be relieved to know that over the next week or two the planetary energy is much more mellow than what we have been experiencing over the past few months, especially in July. The outer planets which have created so much pressure and power are beginning to move away from each other and will not make any major aspects for the rest of the year.
Even Mars will be relatively quiet and not give us too much trouble by not playing nicely with the other planets until it enters Cancer on August 4th.
Mercury will be turning retrograde on August 2nd at the first degree of Virgo so it will dip its toes into the organization of ideas that Virgo inspires and then retrograde back into Leo where the focus is on ways to enhance the sense of Self. I’ll be writing more about this process as we get closer, but we can utilize this retrograde period to assimilate the shifts and changes that have occurred in our lives and be better prepared for next year’s planetary realignments.
Clarification: Dharmaruci made the point in the comments that the actual square of Uranus and Pluto is still tightening and won’t actually begin to separate until early August. That is certainly true, but their interaction has been intensified by the energy of the eclipses and with that intensity lessening we will begin to resolve some of the conflict of Uranus/Pluto.
DR also points out that Mars will be entering Cancer on August 4th, at which time it will begin to set off Uranus and Pluto, and then Saturn but these will be more like the kind of aftershocks we experience after an earthquake rather than another tsunami.

Hi Lynn, According to my solar fire (v6), Uranus and Pluto are applying until 5th August? So a sense of crisis continuing until then. At which points Mars will have just moved into Cancer, setting Uranus and Pluto off all over again!
Hi DR, you are correct technically as far as the exact alignments, but I feel that the intensity of the energy has begun to assimilate on a more personal level, especially after the eclipse series. So my point in the post is that over the next period, without any other intense planetary alignments until Mars enters Cancer, the personal pressure is easing compared to what we’ve seen. Does that make sense to you?
Let’s do a poll after the event!
Hi Lynn
I’m enjoying reading your posts. Just in case you’re not aware, your Facebook link doesn’t lead to your page (just facebook.com). I’m off to try and find it manually now!
Thanks Carla, I fixed that link.
Lisa, thanks for sharing your stories! We can all learn from each other.
DR – that’s a great idea…
Lynn,
I want to keep you posted on what’s going on as my chart has a lot of points getting hit with the Cardinal drama that’s going on.(Cancer rising 8, and in the 4th Mec Libra 6 & Pluto Libra 9) I want to share this because the events I’ve experienced so far have not been what I consider “Life Altering” or “Doomsday” material. Yes, these events have caused Anxiety (with a capital A). They are uncomfortable situations, but nothing that can’t be worked out.
My oldest daughter told me that she wants to quit gymnatics after five years. Dissappointing? Yes. Life shattering? No. There is a lot of things we will miss about the sport and a lot of things we won’t. It will be ok. Really.
She has Libra rising @18. Saturn is in her 12th now. She is 11 and going through some pre teen drama. She will finish the season this fall and have a fresh start this winter.
My youngest child has two to three counts on the Autistic scale. She had a melt down in group therapy on Monday. I wasn’t embarrased. I was actually glad that the therapist got to see first hand what the melt downs are like and now has a darn good understanding of them.
Just uncomfortable situations. I’m using this transit of getting better at handling them.
