Hi, everybody, my name is Lynn Hayes. Welcome back to my channel. And if you’re watching this video, you survived 2020 and welcome to 2021. This is my first video of the year, and I hope that you’ll enjoy it. I’m going to put a link in the description box to my video for the astrology of 2021 and I also have a pretty comprehensive article that I’ll post for you. So I don’t want to spend too much time on that in this week’s video. However, I do want to mention a couple of things.

Just to recap, last year in 2020, we had a lot of planets in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn can be kind of a heavy sign. It’s all about duty and responsibility and the things that we have to do. It’s also assign of achievement and success. So it has some great things going for it but it can be a little bit heavy and it can also kind of put the kibosh on our dreams if we’re being unrealistic or living in a fantasy.  Capricorn, which after all, is ruled by Saturn, we might get our butts kicked. And that seems to be what happened in 2020.

When I was looking ahead in 2019, some of you have heard me say this already, you know, astrologers knew something was coming with the Saturn Pluto conjunction. And in the spring and summer of 2019, we had a little bit of a build up in 2020. Of course, there was a lot of compression, a lot of restriction. We had locked downs, which is you know, literally restricting our movement in our lives and that’s all very Saturn, Capricorn restriction, hard work. You know, we’ve had to really work hard to get our lives back in order.  2021- I wish I could say that it’ll just I’m going to wave a magic wand and all that astrology is going to be over and certainly the astrology is changing, and I think it will be easier. We’re moving from a Capricorn influence into an Aquarian influence. Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn. The modern ruler is Uranus and a lot of people have asked me “I thought the ruler was Uranus.”  Saturn and Uranus, both are the rulers of Aquarius, since Uranus was only discovered in the late 18th century and for 1000s of years before that Saturn was its ruler.  Under Saturn’s rulership, we can see the somewhat cold approach of Aquarius. Aquarius is famous for you know, brotherhood and equality but there’s a coldness too, it can be sort of impersonal. And then when we add the layer of Uranus, which is innovation and change and breaking up old paradigms that aren’t working for us, we can see that this year may not be as restrictive as we had under the Capricorn influence. But there is likely to be a lot of unrest, there’s not likely to be things just sort of falling in place and everything is harmonious and peaceful. Because of the Aquarian influence, and we’re going to see Saturn squaring Uranus which is going to set off some conflicts, I think we are going to see a fair amount of civil unrest, we’re already seeing it of course.

I just want to leave you with this short tidbit that I’m dropping here is that this next year is a year of change. It’s not a year to try to go back to the past, it’s a year to really try to reinvent our lives under the new reality. And I think there can be some excitement and there can be a lot of creativity in how we approach that. Let’s get back to the astrology for the week.

This week, we have three planets changing signs, we have Mars, Mercury and Venus all moving from one sign to another. Anytime we have planets changing signs, and this includes the Moon even though the Moon changes signs every two and a half days or so. But when we have other planets changing signs, there is a shift of energies. The biggest news is that Mars is going to finally leave Aries for Taurus. Mars has been an area since June 27. It retrograded back and forth in areas that it really had a very strong impact on the Capricorn stellium. The combination of three to four planets in Capricorn that we had all year for quite a bit of that time since the end of June. Mars has been in a challenging square aspect to those planets. It’s created a lot of disruption, there’s been a fair amount of violence. Mars after all represents motivation and our drive and it shows the way we initiate new activities, but it also has to do with anger, how we express our assertiveness, the kinds of things we want, how we react when we don’t get what we want. We’ve certainly seen a lot of that this year. So now with Mars moving into Taurus, and it’ll stay in Taurus until March 3, things are going to settle down a little bit. Mars in Aries is in its own sign, it’s the most passionate, it’s the most aggressive, the you know, it’s  pure inspiration, pure motivation, pure action, and Taurus is the sign of comfort and stability and security. Mars settles down. There’s more equanimity, there’s more of a desire for peace, integration. So that’s going to be a very welcome change.

This week we also have Mercury leaving Capricorn where it’s been for the last few weeks and moving into the sign of Aquarius. So we will then have Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury all in Aquarius starting to move into that Aquarian season. With Mercury the planet of the mind in Aquarius, the sign of innovation, it’s much easier to think of new ideas and I feel like that’s going to really help us as we move into this cycle of change. When Mercury is in Aquarius, it’s easier to let go of the ideas and the thoughts and the routines that have served us in the past and more easily to create new ideas and new routines for the future.

We also have Venus leaving Sagittarius where it’s been for the last month or so where it’s been friendly, outgoing, it’s helped to foster connections between people you know, which has not really been the best idea over the holidays and a pandemic. But in any case, Venus this week is going to move into the sign of Capricorn. When Venus, the planet of relationships and connection, is in Capricorn, we tend to be much more responsible and dutiful in our relationships, the things that we have to do become more important. Venus in Capricorn is not the most social place for Venus either. So this longing to get together with people and celebrate is likely to be on the wane, and more likely to more easily embrace the solitude that we need in order to get through this next phase.

The other fairly big news this week is that we start a cycle of Jupiter in Aquarius in a sextile to Chiron in Aries. This is a beautiful time for anything having to do with healing with any kind of psychological transformation, any kind of spiritual illumination Jupiter is concerned with religion and theology, our belief systems, what gives our life meaning. And Chiron of course is the planet of wounding and healing. These two harmonize in a sextile, which is very nurturing and supportive. It’s just a very good time to release old patterns to release any locked in negativity, feelings of depression, sadness, lack of self worth. All of these are Chi ironic kinds of experiences. Jupiter helps to expand the healing process and helps us to let go and make our way through much more easily.

And that takes us to the week ahead. We begin the week on Monday, January 4, with the Moon in the sign of virgo the Moon will be in Virgo all day, which is a very good time to take care of details. We also have a nice conjunction of Mercury which is still in Capricorn at that point to Pluto, which is the last of the big planets in Capricorn Mercury, the planet of the mind, conjunct Pluto, the planet of intensity and transformation. This is a very good time for focus, concentration, especially in Capricorn, where it’s easier to work hard, it’s easier to keep our eye on the goal. In fact, this is a very good time to be making goals. To be thinking very clearly about a plan for the future. This could be made a little bit more difficult because the Virgo Moon will be opposite Neptune which is in Pisces. Neptune is in Pisces for a very long time and the Moon is only in Virgo for Monday, so this is not going to last very long. The Virgo Moon is very interested in the details it’s very interested in organizing. So that’s very useful to Mercury and Pluto which are helping us to clearly define our goals and think through problems with a great deal of intelligence. But then here comes the Moon opposite Neptune creating this dreamy imaginative quality. Now if we use that to infuse our plans and our goals with more magic and with more imagination, than that could be a beautiful thing. But what could also happen is you could set aside some time for work maybe for a conference, and then find yourself staring out into space. The Moon opposing Neptune just loves that feeling of expansion and of magic. So let’s put that to work for us instead of have it work against us.

On Tuesday January 5, the Moon will enter Libra very early in the morning eastern time, around 12:42am, and then early in the morning between four and seven-ish am Eastern time , the Libra Moon is going to form a trine to Jupiter and Saturn. That’s a very harmonious interaction between these planets. We have the Moon in Libra which craves integration and harmony and a peaceful experience, harmonizing with Jupiter which opens the heart and helps us to feel more optimistic. And then Saturn which can help us to organize our feelings better help us to stay a little more grounded. Now a little later in the morning around 9:30am Eastern Time, the Libra Moon will oppose Chiron.  Chiron, the planet of wounding and healing when it’s in a stressful aspect to any other planet. But especially the Moon, which is our sensitive emotions that can make us a lot more sensitive, it could mean that our feelings are more easily hurt. And even if our feelings are more easily hurt, the people around us could be more sensitive. So it’s a good time to maybe tread a little bit lightly. These are lunar aspects will only last for a couple of hours. And then the rest of the day on Tuesday the Libra Moon is just sort of making its way that’s a good day for any kind of art. It’s a good day to find a way to bring some beauty into your life.

On Wednesday we have Mars entering the sign of Taurus, you might actually feel that shift when Mars moves from Aries into Taurus, you might feel all of a sudden a big exhalation Ah, things are calmer. We might even be able to feel it just like that. The sign of Taurus is also ruled by Venus as is Libra. So we have the Moon in the sign of Libra ruled by Venus. Then Mars moves into Taurus also ruled by Venus. Venus has many layers of meaning just as everything astrological does and that makes it difficult to give you a little soundbite or every little situation that could possibly come up. But Venus does have to do obviously with relationships, love and beauty. But even more importantly, it has to do with our nervous system. It has to do with calming our nervous system, finding that equanimity and that equilibrium. Labor is a sign of balance. It’s a sign up the tactician. So under the influence of the Libra Moon, we tend not to be as aggressive. We tend not to stand up for ourselves in a fight. It’s a time when we’re more likely to be peacemakers on the evening of Wednesday at the six when the Libra Moon forms a square to Pluto and Mercury which are in Capricorn. That could be a time where there is some dissonance when the Moon squares Mercury there can be some dissonance in our thinking, we can perhaps be over emotional and not be able to think very clearly. And when the Moon squares Pluto, especially the sensitive Libra Moon, squaring Pluto, the planet of destruction, regeneration, this big, intense planet, it can be a time when we might feel a little bit overwhelmed. So while the beginning of the day is very peaceful equanimity, lots of harmony later in the day that evening and later into the night. We’ll have the squares from the Moon to Mercury and Pluto. They’ll only last for a couple of hours and by Thursday, we will have easily moved through them.

On Thursday the Moon moves into Scorpio just before 4am Eastern time. The shift from Libra to Scorpio is a big one. We go from the peace and equanimity of Libra to the intensity of Scorpio. Scorpio is ruled by Mars traditionally and by Pluto as its modern ruler. Scorpio is very passionate, not the first one to back down from a fight. When the Moon is in Scorpio we have that passionate emotional intensity that can really help to drive us which is going to be useful because we have Mars which is in Taurus and square to Jupiter and Saturn, which are in Aquarius and then here we have the Moon in Scorpio and those planets and the Moon are all butting heads against each other. The Scorpio Moon opposes Mars in the morning that Thursday and makes a square to Jupiter and Saturn. There’s no point really to break that down because it’s all just going to be one concoction of challenges. Now these are very fast moving influences, but they can be a little bit disruptive, especially for the Moon. The Moon is in Scorpio. So for all of us, no matter where our Natal Moon is, when the Moon is in Scorpio, we’re all a little more passionate. This could be a time where there’s a fair amount of conflict. And then in the afternoon when the Scorpio Moon opposes Uranus, which is in Taurus, the Moon, opposite Uranus, the planet of radical behavior, you know, and then Uranus, is interacting with all these other planets that could maintain the disruption into the afternoon and evening of Thursday. So just know that that’s coming and be prepared.

Some of you have written to me, “oh, I was so glad you told me about this, because I almost snapped my husband’s head off.” And I thought, “Oh, I wish I would remember these things.” Because sometimes we forget, and things just happen. A few people have written to me that as they watch the video, they keep track and they write these notes into their calendar, which I think is a great idea and I’m going to try it myself. Because I might tell you these things and then I completely forget it later. So in any case, Thursday has a potential to be a little bit disruptive. Now what it’s really good for is thinking of something new, doing something completely different. It’s a very good day for doing something outside of your comfort zone. Something you haven’t done before. Something you haven’t done recently and in lockdown that won’t be very hard to find!

Friday, January 8, there is a lot of planetary choose. We have two planets changing signs that day, we have Mercury entering Aquarius, and we have Venus entering Capricorn. So there’s two planetary shifts that day, we also have a lovely sextile from the Sun to Neptune. This is a beautifully creative time The Sun is in Capricorn and Neptune is in Pisces. It’s a very good time for creativity, the Sun in Capricorn gives us the discipline that we need to focus. And then Neptune in Pisces helps to inspire and it’s a harmonious aspect. So we tend to get the best out of both of the planetary energies under the sextile aspect. In particular, however, we do have Mercury which is now in Aquarius and a square to Mars, which is now in Taurus. And over the next couple of days, Mercury is also going to interact with Jupiter and Saturn. So there is a lot of planetary interactions here. And especially with Mercury because these are going to last over the few days for the rest of the week. When there’s a lot of Mercury activity. There’s a lot of focus on the mind. There’s a lot of focus on communication, information processing, writing contracts agreements.

Later in the month, Mercury will turn retrograde and there will be a shadow period before then subject of much disagreement among astrologers. But the way I view it when Mercury begins to slow down, that’s when the shadow period starts. So for now, the shadow period has not yet begun in the way that I approach this situation. However, for the entire week, we have Mercury square Mars conjunct Saturn and then conjunct Jupiter. So just watch for this you might have you know, a lot of disagreements there might be a lot of trouble focusing and on Friday the eighth remember the Moon is still in Scorpio so you still have that nice intensity which is really going to help with all this Mercury stuff.

On Saturday, January 9, the Moon will move into Sagittarius around 615 in the morning, Eastern time. The movement from the Moon into Sagittarius, especially from Scorpio is another major shift we got from the heaviness and the passion, the intensity of Scorpio into the kind of light hearted optimism of Sagittarius. That’s kind of a good couple of days to take a breath, maybe relax a little bit plan something fun, something enjoyable. We do have that conjunction of Mercury to Saturn so there can be a little bit of maybe negative thinking depression potentially but Mercury is in Aquarius, where it’s brilliant and inventive. So in a conjunct Saturn, which is a ruler of Aquarius, as we said, you know, that can really help us to organize our thinking a little more, and maybe to be a little disciplined especially if you’re a writer. This can help to give you some inspiration as well as the focus to be able to put your ideas to work. And we have a lovely trine from Venus to Mars that day, very good for any kind of interaction with other people. It’s a good day to maybe plan an activity because Venus of course represents our connections and Mars enjoys activities.

On Sunday, January 10 there’s really not very much to speak of. We still have the Moon in Sagittarius, and in the afternoon that day the Moon will transit the South node of the past. If there were other planetary influences that day, I probably wouldn’t even talk about this. But this can be a very subtle influence that can encourage us just to let go of something from the past. The South node represents energies and thought patterns that hold us back. It’s opposite the north node of the future. And so the Moon passing over that point can help us to let go of something that we really don’t need anymore.

Then on Monday, and we’ll have a new video that day, but the Moon is going to enter Capricorn in the morning. So we’re going to move out of that Sagittarius lightness into Capricorn, a time of responsibility. We do also still have those Mercury interactions I was talking about. So the mind still very active. But that’s the day of the beautiful sextile from Jupiter to Chiron. That sextile, which I spoke about earlier in the video is really building throughout the week. But that’s the day on Monday when it really culminates and it’s a beautiful day to plan some sort of ritual, or something to honor the release of a stuck pattern of painful emotion, memories of rejection, any kind of thing like that, that causes you any pain. Jupiter’s blessings will help you to let go. I think that’s a very nice positive place to end this video. Thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate it and I look forward to seeing you next week.
