More sexual abuse allegations under Saturn in Scorpio

Last fall I wrote about the surge of prosecution for sexual violence that began when Saturn entered Scorpio:

Saturn entered Scorpio about a year ago and will take another year and a half or so to travel through that sign.  Scorpio is traditionally ruled by Mars and its modern ruler is Pluto, and these are the two planets that govern sexuality.  Mars deals with the physical drives including the sexual drive and energy, and Pluto addresses matters of intimacy and the “petit mort” of sexual surrender. Pluto is also fearless when it comes to the dark side of the human experience, and we often find rape and abusive behaviors under its banner, and Scorpio tends to be an investigator in areas of life where the more carefree signs might fear to venture.

In its role as Celestial Teacher, Saturn brings consequences and lessons in areas of life governed by the sign it travels through, and we have seen many instances in the news over the past year in which governmental bodies (Saturn) are getting tough on sexual violence (Scorpio) in their communities. …

Saturn’s last journey through Scorpio occurred between 1983 and 1985.  Pluto had also just entered Scorpio and the AIDS crisis (death/Pluto through sexuality/Scorpio) began.   At the same time there was an eruption of child sexual abuse cases and the concept of repressed (Pluto) memories of sexual abuse (Scorpio) brought women out of the closet into the therapist’s office.  Those years between 1983 and 1985 while Saturn was in Scorpio brought the phenomenon of childhood sexual abuse into the public eye.  In 1983, April was designated National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The astrology of Elliot Rodger, the “Virgin Killer,” Part II

elliot rodger astrologycatch up on Part I here.

Psychology

The psychological picture that we can derive from the astrological chart of Eliot Rodger shows an individual with a significant wound  (Saturn/Chiron/Sun) to his sense of Self.  The writings clearly reveal a diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (see this article in Psychology Today,” the root of which is a wound to the Self.  The “Narcissistic Wound” usually occurs in childhood and in a weak personality the individual tends to blame others rather than to seek the healing which Chiron requires.

The narcissist personality is unable to view other people as anything other than an extension of their flawed selves.  From his writings we do not see that Elliot Rodger ever asked a woman out or was directly rejected by him.  Instead he was driven by jealousy and rage over what he perceived other people had that he did not.  The square from Jupiter to Pluto gave him a self-righteousness and tendency towards fixed beliefs.

Originally I rectified the chart to have Scorpio rising.   Rodger writes: “Finding out about sex is one of the things that truly destroyed my entire life. Sex… the very word fills me with hate. ”  This extreme reaction can really only be explained by a strong astrological Pluto or Scorpio.  He craved sex, and equated it with power – very Pluto/Scorpio.  And yet he was revulsed by it, and afraid of it.  It was his fear of sex that kept him from women.  Without a correct birth time we can only guess.

Transits and Progressions

The astrology of Eliot Rodger, the “Virgin Killer” Part 1

Introduction

rodgerOn May 23, 2014 Eliot Rodger, a 22-year old former student, went on a shooting rampage that killed six people and wounded thirteen others.  Rodger, a young man who was desperate for attention and felt invisible according to his writings, left a series of Youtube videos and a 107,000 word treatise detailing virtually every detail about his life and the road to sexual obsession and rage that fueled his “Day of Retribution” against the women who rejected him and the men whom they chose instead.  While this “manifesto” is horrific and appalling, it does make it easier for the astrologer to profile this individual and attempt to find some idea of why an individual would pursue such drastic measures.

Before I present the profile to you I would like to reiterate that while this is an extremely difficult chart, other individuals born the same day, with virtually identical charts other than the exact Moon and Ascendant/Midheaven positions, are not mass murderers.  In fact, one young person born that day, Emily Rickards, has a successful acting career and Lin Yue, also born the same day, is an Olympic gold medalist in diving.  However, in analyzing the astrological chart we can see how an innately difficult personality challenge as revealed in the chart can combine with mental illness and poor choices to result in criminal behavior.

Birthchart Analysis

Eliot Rodgers was born on July 24, 1991.  The time of birth is not known.

Rectification

UPDATE: Originally I rectified the time to 2:30 pm.  (Rectified birthtimes are little more than educated guesses and should never be taken as verified times, no matter how skillful the astrologer claims to be.)  This chart works beautifully, it makes sense, and I was very pleased with it.  Unfortunately it is […]

The terrible twos, violence, and the Mars Return

Mars returnSpeaking of Mars, as we have been doing this month since Mars is retrograde, in close proximity to Earth, and part of the April Grand Cross of planetary conflict…

I was listening to the Bad Baby episode  of This American Life and was struck by what one of the psychologists said: that the peak of violence in a human being occurs at age two, so it’s a good thing these little monsters are so small and can’t do any real damage.   Age two, of course, is the age of the first Mars Return.  Technically, the first Mars Return occurs at age 23 months but the effect of the awakening of the Mars impulse: the impulse to say no, to create boundaries, to establish a pattern of assertion and aggression, continues over several months.

To understand the violent criminal, says Richard E. Tremblay, imagine a 2-year-old boy doing the things that make the terrible twos terrible — grabbing, kicking, pushing, punching, biting.

Now imagine him doing all this with the body and resources of an 18-year-old.

You have just pictured both a perfectly normal toddler and a typical violent criminal as Dr. Tremblay, a developmental psychologist at University College Dublin in Ireland, sees them — the toddler as a creature who reflexively uses physical aggression to get what he wants; the criminal as the rare person who has never learned to do otherwise.

In other words, dangerous criminals don’t turn violent. They just stay that way.

read more here…

Around age two toddlers begin to understand that their are limits to the world around them.  There are things that they want that they cannot have, which makes them want these things all the more.  This […]

The astrology of the George Zimmerman verdict

George Zimmerman astrologyPhoto from TMZ.

Yesterday I posted about the entry of Mars into the summer’s planetary intensity.  It doesn’t take an astrologer to predict that the “not guilty” verdict in the trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin would erupt into street protests, and the entry of Mars into Cancer and the resulting flareup of angry (Mars) feelings (Cancer) is just a trigger for the tinderbox of tension that is part of the Uranus/Pluto square.  (See the sidebar section on this planetary cycle if you are new to this site.)

Yesterday throngs of people protesting the verdict came out in New York, in Los Angeles, in Portland, in Miami, in Jacksonville, Newark, Oakland, Pittsburgh…  This is likely just the beginning.  As the week goes on and Mars starts to square off more directly with both Uranus (revolution) and Pluto (power structures) expect the reaction to intensify, in both directions.

I wrote about the arrest of Mr. Zimmerman back in 2012. and related the shooting of Trayvon Martin to the astrological chart for the United States.

In order to assess the effect these individuals are having on the evolution of the United States I examined the progressed charts for all of the players using the information available  without accurate birth times.  Trayvon Martin’s progressed Saturn was exactly quincunx the progressed Moon in the US chart, demonstrating the challenge (Saturn)  to the emotions (Moon) of Americans in a struggle that, like the quincunx aspect, has no real way of achieving resolution. Both progressed Mars and Jupiter in Trayvon’s chart are trine Progressed Chiron in the US chart, motivating the desire (Mars) to raise up painful old wounds (Chiron) […]
