The lunar eclipse tonight will be one of the longest lasting eclipses in 100 years, lasting about 100 minutes. It will be visible in eastern South America, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Southern or Southeast Asia, and Australia but will not be visible from North America. It is thought that eclipses have a more powerful effect in the areas in which they can be seen with the naked eye, but I haven’t really noticed a corollation.
(Image from NASA.) The eclipse will begin when the earth’s shadow is cast on the Moon at about 2:22 pm Eastern on June 15th/18:23 Universal Time (UT). The total eclipse begins 3:23 Eastern/19:23 UT with the maximum eclipse occurring at 4:22 Eastern/20:12 UT. The entire event will conclude at around 6:02 pm Eastern/22:02 UT.
Many of you have written me asking what to expect from the eclipse, and the truth is there is no way to predict this. If your chart is individually affected because you have planets between 20 and 28 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo or Pisces), or if you have a strongly placed Moon or an emphasis in Cancer and are therefore more sensitized to lunar events, you may feel as though something is erupting into consciousness. You may be inspired to make a major change, or that something in your life is completed.
I believe it’s most helpful to simply observe your experience rather than anticipate it – that way you will be best prepared to greet any experience that opens up within you. Eclipses often reveal something which has been hidden or which we have kept buried within us, so there is an opportunity for a greater awakening as well.

I love how you interpret and explain, yet encourage us to leave open the space for the unexpected to happen during transits, eclipses, etc. Hurray for the faith to let life unfold! Still learning this lesson…
From how I have been feeling today – it doesn’t matter who can see it (I’m in Canada) and have been “off” today. Trying to piece together bits that could help me in the long run, and trying to prepare for the future. You were dead on Lynn about the feeling Lynn. All I can say is wow!
Thanks Kelly!
Sorry to be late in getting to your comment Xenia, the eclipse was at 24 Sagittarius.
