The big news this week is Jupiter bring its expansive powers of confidence and optimism into the usually sensible and practical sign of Capricorn. Historically, financial markets have done very well when Jupiter is in its own sign of Sagittarius – economics rely on optimism of the masses to stay buoyed up, and when that optimism begins to crack we start to see a contraction. When citizens don’t feel optimistic about their future they stop spending, and then factories slow down production, and there is a domino effect leading to a downturn for investors.
All year we have seen Saturn dancing with Pluto in Capricorn, teasing the beginning of a contraction, but Jupiter in sunny Sagittarius has kept the wolves at bay. It’s still unclear what will happen with Jupiter in Capricorn but as my clients know, I have been advising caution. This would not be the ideal time to start a new business requiring a capital investment, or to make risky investments. We will know more once we see what happens when Saturn and Pluto formally collide in mid-January.
Meanwhile, this month with Jupiter in Capricorn is ideal for taking the expansive goals and dreams you may have formulated over the past year with Jupiter in Sagittarius, and bring them down to earth with practical plans and strategies to make them happen. This is the domain of Capricorn, and if we understand how this all works we can make this the best year ever, despite the potential of negativity if there is an economic contraction. This week Jupiter approaches a challenging square to Chiron which culminates on December 8. Chiron’s job, as I see it, is to unlock the padlocks we keep on our wounded places, removing the emotional and psychic scabs that we build to protect these wounds. Jupiter approaches everything in a big way, so when there is a challenging aspect to Chiron it tends to expand the process and make it simultaneously easier and more intense. If you are currently undergoing a planetary cycle of Chiron to your own chart, you may feel this more intensely. There is an opportunity here to let go of the past and release the bonds of these old emotions by breathing and letting go of the story and energies that have been locked away. This process is simple, but it’s not easy.
In other planetary news, this week brings harmonious aspects of Mercury and Venus early in the week to help facilitate communication and all aspects of relationships. Venus touches the South Node of the past on the 3rd, suggesting a doorway into a friendship or relationship from the past that may be unfinished. If you’ve been contemplating reaching out to an old friend that may be a very good day to do it.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
With Pluto sitting on my natal Chiron for what seems like forever, and Saturn preparing to squeeze into that spot too late this month, the Chiron work continues apace… the blessing of healing.
Yes, me too Valerie. That’s why I’m spending a lot of time this month turning inward. ❤️
Namaste
I m new to western astrology as see n my chart I am in Aries Chiron return , last year Jupiter transited on my Sadge 19 deg MC conjoined naal moon. In 9th house. All placidus.
I left my job mid year , despite of Jupiter transit I remain jobless. Now that Jupiter in Capri over my natal sun mer(r) will transit my 10 house for a couple of months (as Capri cusp starts in 11house I am Pisces 14 rising) can i keep the hope of getting a job soon alive. Or Neptune transit will keep making me delusions
Thanks
