Astrological update for the week of November 7-14, 2022
As you probably know, we are in eclipse season and the one on Tuesday November 8th really dominates the airwaves this week. First of all, it’s a total eclipse which means that the lunar nodes of fate are very tightly conjunct the lunation (the Sun and Moon in opposition). We have a powerful see-saw (remember those?) of the eclipsed Moon (feelings) in tight conjunction to Uranus (rebellion and change), but in the sign of Taurus which craves security and stability. So already we are set up for a lack of balance. The Moon conjoins the North Node which points to the future, suggesting that a change that comes about in this lunar eclipse will change the trajectory of destiny. (Quite a big deal considering it falls on Election Day in the U.S.)
On the other end of the see-saw we have a tight stellium (grouping) of planets in intense Scorpio, including a conjunction of Mercury to the Sun, illuminating the realm of reason and information, and Venus for power in relationships and personal interactions. The Sun, Mercury and Venus all oppose Uranus suggesting a burst of energy for something new. The role of Uranus is to inspire the breaking free of old routines and patterns which no longer serve us. The Sun conjoins the South Node of the past, suggesting that there is quite a lot that has been holding us back which needs to be released in order for the future to unfold as it should.
I’d like to also point out that the eclipse takes place just one degree from astrological Samhain, the midpoint between the Equinox and the Solstice known as the cross-quarter point of power when the veils between the world grow thin. Samhain and Halloween are not the same! There is some real planetary energy happening here.
Saturn is a player too – the planet of discipline and cold hard facts is in its own sign of Aquarius (traditional ruler) and locked in challenging square aspects to both the lunar system which includes Uranus. This means that the Saturn/Uranus square which I’ve been banging on about for two years is re-activated, and conflict could be the result. Alternatively, and this is what I hope for, any conflict that emerges results in the meeting of minds and the paving of a new path. Don’t hold your breath, though. Be prepared for some rocky waters.
Saturn also squares the Scorpio planets, making this an excellent time to do good Saturn things. We may not feel that social (Saturn square Venus), or that happy (Saturn square Sun), and we may feel lonely (Saturn square Moon), but we can work with good Saturn diligence on a plan for ways in which to move forward with greater good fortune and happiness.
There’s a lot here, and the energies for the eclipse will be building on Monday when you likely read this, and will extend through most of the week. Some of the planetary aspects embedded in the chart will not culminate for a few days after the eclipse, so throughout the week it’s a good time to keep your eyes open and pay attention to the structures which you build for yourself. Try to avoid any kind of extreme reactions which might destroy that which you have created, and spend some time in contemplation and conversation with your inner guides.
By Sunday the 13th the intensity will likely begin to fade, especially with a couple of harmonious aspects which will help to soothe jangled nerves. Venus in Scorpio harmonizes with its modern ruler Pluto, so on the 12th and 13th there is potential to deepen relationships with others and explore your own self-esteem and confidence.
That’s it for this week – next week we have a lovely Venus/Jupiter trine to look forward, the most fortunate of all lucky days. ❤️

Yes! I do readings. Learn more here.
I appreciate you Lynn!!! Your synthesis gave me more understanding of this Lunar Eclipse. I just noticed my natal Sun, Saturn & Venus in Scorpio are chaperoned by transiting sun, Venus & Mercury all in 2nd decan of course in opposition to the eclipse.
I’m glad to hear the post was helpful, Seble. The eclipse hits most of my planets, and this morning after I am feeling very alive and ready for exciting new changes. Hopefully the election won’t be too fraught.
Yes, election was peaceful! Just waiting for counting to finish. I still feel the energy of the eclipse- subtle, powerful and a sense of deep letting go effortlessly. I know it’s a start:) wondering the depth of it.
Peace be with you!🙏🙇♀️
You know the world is getting to a dicey place when I’d far rather read your posts than read or listen to the news. Your posts, at least, leave me with some hope.
I think perspective is what’s required here. I don’t anticipate that today will be a happy day for Democrats, but the pendulum keeps swinging until balance is achieved.
