Today’s post comes on the day when Saturn and Pluto make their exact alignment in the sky.  So far it’s not as bad as I feared – the financial markets haven’t collapsed and it looks like war in the Middle East has been averted, for the time being.  Yes, the Monarchy in Britain is about to break apart along with Brexit, and many of my friends, clients and colleagues are experiencing difficulties in their lives, but somehow the world keeps turning.

Ronnie Grisham, editor of Dell Horoscope magazine which just ceased publication, posted this on Facebook and I wanted to share it with you today.

If you also feel as if a big chapter in your life has closed, know you’re not alone. We’re in this together, along with millions of others who have lost their footholds on old systems and structures they used to be able to count on as we negotiate the threshold of a stark new era.

This path is not for the faint of heart. If you haven’t collapsed, people around you have. The battlefield is strewn with fallen comrades, broken regimes, and deconstructed institutions. But there’s no turning back now. There’s nothing to turn back to. The gateway is here. This is sacred territory. We are doulas to our own deaths and midwives to our new selves; to our awakening. Gone are safety nets, floorboards under our feet, blindfolds to reality; fears surface, shadows are revealed, restrictions become unbearable—this is the breakout/breakthrough moment!

But real life is hard as the king planets Saturn and Pluto meet in super-conjunction under a Cancer Eclipse and trickster Uranus’ shockwave station. In these dark times there’s an inclination to lean into the world’s troubles, to crash against all that’s wrong or broken. But don’t fall into despair. We all know we were made for these times. We have been learning, practicing; life initiates in training: just for this. In this world of rage, of daily astonishment and de-civilization, visionary people and heart warriors are in dire need. Don’t drain your energy bemoaning how hard things are. Free yourself from the obsessive drama of watching the old world burn and align your best self with this evolutionary catharsis.

There is a karmic clearing underway; in the global fabric, in the undoing of toxic beliefs, behaviors, and institutions. Old distortions are being stripped away to enable release, renewal, and re-empowerment. Collaborate with this clearing—it amplifies the work of the archetypal, irrevocable, iconic reality-change agents Saturn and Pluto. The more artifacts you leave behind in your personal history, the lighter on your feet you’ll be. Don’t ask yourself if you can be free of all this; ask yourself if you can be free of it in just this moment; then the next moment.

Remember, you’re not charged with fixing the entire broken, damaged world; just stretch out to mend the part of the world within your reach; do any one small thing that one lighted soul can do to help another. This “circle of others” is expanding—there have never been more able Lightbearers than there are right now. See yourself as a strong, rooted tree in the forest of an awakening humanity. “Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you.”–L.R. Knost. Be the “Shamash,” the primary menorah candle that lights the others. Intervene in a stormy world! Soul-shine! Be a beacon in these dark seas, the Hermit with his lantern. A lighted soul throws off sparks, like signal flares. Struggling souls catch that light. It’s not for us to know which, or whose, acts will tip the current critical mass toward an enduring, sustainable good. We’re needed; that’s all we can know.

Do you believe?
Did you vow to listen to a voice greater than yours?
Did you ask for grace?

“When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take a step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly.” –Patrick Overton
