This is a very personal poem for me right now. I’m in the midst of some intense planetary alignments involving progressed Mars and Pluto (geeky astrological details below) which I have been observing with some trepidation. Would I get in an accident? Set fire to my house? Blow up all of my relationships? But I forgot that Mars is all about the purification of the ego through desire. Connecting with the higher aspect of our own selves to see what it is that our soul is desiring. The questions began to change. How do I want to spend my time? What will bring me the most joy in service to humanity? How can I be the best friend, partner, adviser while still walking a path that is mine alone?
Then I found this beautiful poem from David Whyte. It’s not the typical kind of inspiration I try to bring to these pages on Sunday but perhaps it will speak to you as well. ❤️❤️❤️
When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone,
no part of the world can find you.
Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.
There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your home
The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.
You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.
~ David Whyte
Geeky astrological details of my current mood: Transiting Uranus stationary square my Moon for months. Progressed Mars within half a degree of an opposition to natal Pluto. Progressed Moon exactly conjunct progressed Mars. Progressed Moon half a degree from opposing natal Pluto. AND transiting Mars square Chiron today!!!💝
With so much negative energy, questionable methods of governance, hatred in the air , these feelings automatically creep into our consciousness, though unintentionally. It’s always the faith you believe in meditation, which is panacea of all evil thoughts. Let them pass by.
This is most excellent advice, Charanjit. ❤️
Thank you for the poem, Lynn. And re your current aspects: Golly gosh…got my attention! Go in love.
Thank you Sandra! Life sure is exciting, but easier when you have a map to navigate through rough waters. ❤️
The poem is beautiful. As a nocturnal person, I feel more at home in the night than on sunny days. Read it twice and can totally follow the thoughts which leave one alone during many lonely nights.
I keep looking to see if there will something “hopeful” as this is a particularly difficult period for one of my friends, a Capricorn with serious health issues. It is late in life for both of us and I wish that it were not so.
Thanks for your comment, Sigrid and I’m glad you like this poem. There is always something hopeful, even in the midst of darkness. I am wishing the best for your friend, and peace for healing. ❤️
Thank you dear Lynn for all yor hard work, dedication, and love for what you do. Regarding your transits, first, overall, I perceive it is highly unusual that bad or extreme karma could enter the life of such a loving and highly evolved soul as you are. Second, regarding the uranus natal moon transit, i just finished my two year or so uranus transit conjunct my natal moon taurus/12house/north node and it was a life changing experience for the better. Since emotions (i am cancer) during this transit are fairly detached, my usual fierce spirit increased significantly and purchased a big beautiful piece of land that came by intuition and triggered by a new moon solar eclipse. As a side note, the land was discovered and purchased during the 28 day eclipsed moon cycle. But, the message here is that the emotions or fears stayed behind the scenes so i could fulfill one of my life missions. Take care and keep enjoying life and planetary adventures!
Hi Julia, thank you for your sweet comment. As you say, challenging transits aren’t bad karma at all but rather opportunities for growth and experiences which transport us into light. ❤️
