Donald Trump

Astrological update for the week of November 16, 2020 including election post-mortem

Last week we finished a couple of important astrological cycles (the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction and the fact that Mars turned direct) but the effects have lingered, and this is a topic of discussion in this week’s video.  I also talk a bit about upcoming planetary factors which will affect the way the post-election drama unfolds. This week the influences are more subtle and give us an opportunity to take a breath and catch up to ourselves.  The transcript is below for those who prefer to read. ❤️

Hey everybody, my name is Lynn Hayes. Welcome back to my channel. In today’s video, we’re going to talk about the astrology of November 16 through the 23rd. I’m filming this video on Thursday, and we have the election of course on November 3, and I’m filming the video on the 12th. And there is still not a really clear concession from the president. And it still is unclear what’s really going to happen. This is not really surprising to me or to anybody who is following the astrology. You can look back through the last several videos if you’d like to know more about that. I don’t want to spend too much time talking about the election. But I do want to talk a little bit about some important time periods that are coming up that will likely affect how smoothly this all […]

Last minute thoughts on the astrology of the 2020 election

We’re coming down the home stretch, and I continue to get queries about the election so I thought I’d share some thoughts.  Most of the predictions I’ve read have been based on the charts of the two candidates and most of those have relied on the strength of the planetary cycles each candidate is experiencing.  The prevailing idea seems to be that the candidate with the most harmonious planetary conditions will prevail, but that’s not how this works.  It’s often during the most grueling and challenging planetary cycles that we enjoy the greatest successes.  In addition, the election of a leader of a nation has more to do with the state of that nation than the candidates who become more of a symbol of the major themes experiencing in the country at the time.

I prepared a little video for my channel:

Some astrologers use the conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn for prediction:  Jupiter represents expansion and freedom, and Saturn represents restriction and control.  In the United States currently these major themes appear to be Law and Order and Nationalist Pride with a Governmental Control sub-theme (Saturn themes) on the Republican side vs Environmental Issues and Social Justice (Jupiter)with a sub-theme of COVID-19 safety on the Democratic side.  I read one article from an astrologer who claimed that Jupiter represents Republicans and Saturn Democrats, but I suppose it depends on your viewpoint.  Democrats tend to prefer bigger government with more services which would fall under the generosity of Jupiter, whereas Republicans seek greater control through adherence to laws and the structures of religion which to be is more Saturnian.

I mention this only to suggest that perhaps her predictive techniques are similarly not free from bias.  The point that the globalism of […]

US 2020 astrological election prediction realities

ABC news

Please note that any comments from either side of the aisle which serve only to inflame and do not add productively to the conversation will be deleted.

Predicting the outcome of an election is a tempting exercise, but extremely difficult in practice.  In 2016 astrologers everywhere attempted to predict whether Clinton or Trump would win the November US Presidential election.  You can geek out here and read the article and comments breaking down results by whether the astrologer followed the tropical or sidereal zodiac, was US-based or international etc., but the important takeaway is that of the 90 predictions collected in the article, 62.1% predicted a Clinton win and 37.9% predicted a Trump win. These predictions were based on a nearly infinite assortment of techniques including ancient and obscure techniques such as firdaria, vertical zodiac, whatever that is, and something my friend Barry Goddard called “a non-astrological judgement that politically the more charismatic candidate usually wins.”

62.1% predicted a Clinton win; 37.9% predicted Trump would win.  This wasn’t far off from Gallup’s polling which gave Clinton a 51% chance over 32% for Trump.

After the election some astrologers attempted to blame the incorrect predictions on faulty birth data, but in this kind of prediction there are so many factors.  The individual candidates, their personalities and their planetary cycles affecting them at the time of the election.  Whether or not they connect with the People as reflected in the chart for the United States.  Which chart for the United States is used (most astrologers, myself included, use the chart from July 4 1776 but there are many others).  The mood of the People on election day.  Planetary conditions for the US chart and how […]

Michael Cohen and the US Pluto return

I realize that political posts can generate a great deal of animosity.  I will attempt to be as unbiased as possible in my political posts and stick to the astrology, but it’s likely that some bias will slip through.

I have been writing a lot about the upcoming return of Pluto to its place in the astrological chart for the United States, and if you’re an avid consumer of astrological news you have probably read about this elsewhere as well.  Planetary returns (such as the Saturn return with which you might be familiar) are important cycles of change and evolution.  There are lunar returns every month, solar returns every year, Mars returns every two plus years, Saturn returns every 29 years, Uranus returns every 84 years, etc. and each type of return has a different quality and brings an emphasis on the agenda of that planet to the individual.

Because Pluto takes about 248 years to orbit the earth, humans do not experience Pluto returns.  However, nations can experience a Pluto return although very few national governments last that long.  The astrological chart for a nation is always a matter of hot debate among astrologers but that is a matter for another post.  Despite the debate on the specifics of which chart to use for the US, there is certainly agreement that we are heading into a time when the US will experience its first Pluto return after 248 years.

Astrologers have been speculating as to what this will mean.  The end of the US constitution?  The breakdown of the economic system, since Pluto occupies the second house of money in the most commonly used chart for the US?  Civil war?  So it was particularly chilling […]

Apparently I did predict the election outcome

election predictionA reader reminded me about what I wrote about Donald Trump back in June:

Astrologers often cast a chart for the moment that the Sun returns to its place at birth in order to get a picture of an individual’s coming year.  Trump’s Solar Return chart shows an extremely fortunate conjunction of the Sun and Venus, with Venus bestowing blessings of attraction and success.  Uranus, the disrupter, sits at the Midheaven of the Return chart, threatening to create havoc and suggesting that some sort of reversal is still possible [emphasis added].

The upcoming planetary cycles affecting Trump’s chart are overwhelmingly favorable. Jupiter is the planet which open the doors of opportunity and often bestows confidence and good luck, and Trump has a number of Jupiter cycles beginning in August and extending into the election season.

The opportunities presented by Jupiter are sometimes unexpected.  If as some say Trump never really wanted to be President, Jupiter could release him from the race and he could lose.  And because the confidence bestowed by Jupiter can make us complacent, there is always the danger that like the hare who raced against the tortoise, the hare could become overconfident and lose the race that way [this almost happened!].

Some astrologers such as this one have attempted to predict failure for the Trump candidacy by pointing out the transit of Saturn, the planet of challenge and frustration, to Trump’s Sun and Moon.  Unfortunately for Trump haters, Saturn doesn’t get involved in the astrological picture until well after the election.

This post generated some unhappy comments from readers necessitating this disclaimer which I added to the post:

Already I have received many emails begging me for more negative information on Trump’s planetary cycles.  Trust me folks, I have looked for it. […]
