The Moon is new on June 3rd in the sign of Gemini. Gemini is the sign of the twins and finds pleasure in the embrace of dual views that may seem incompatible but which actually enhance our nature and help us to grow and evolve. The more we understand about who we are, the more effective we can be in our lives and Gemini accomplishes this through attracting experiences through which we change and take on new characteristics and qualities. Under the sign of Gemini we are more flexible, which makes it easier to create something new which forces us to shed an old skin that no longer fits these new experiences and new ways of looking at the world.

Gemini is an air sign, and lives in the realm of the mind. Communication is critical under the influence of Gemini, and so is objectivity. Gemini is also a bit of a mimic, encouraging us to try on new experiences and new personas in order to learn more about how we are. In this New Moon chart, both the Sun and Moon are in a harmonious trine to Pallas – asteroid of Divine Intelligence. Pallas connects us to our own inner knowing – unlike the flashes of intuition in which we gain knowledge from a higher plane, the wisdom of Pallas comes from within. Gemini New Moon June 13, 2018: Marriage of Mind and Heart

The New Moon in Gemini on June 13th calls on us to we have a unique opportunity to create change and become more adaptable to new ideas and new ways of living our life; to learn the inner strength that an increase in flexibility can offer us. Gemini is a shapeshifter and easily modifies obstacles and helps to activate the mind to embrace experiences that change us. It encourages us to shift the way we perceive our own lives through experiencing our lives through the perceptions of others.

Still, the Mind and Heart are inextricably woven together in this New Moon. Mercury, ruler of Gemini, is the master of the mind, the intellect, and the processing of messages. Mercury has just moved into Cancer, the sign of the Moon – emotional, intuitive, sensitive. The New Moon itself brings a shift in our emotional space from the stability of Taurus into the sparkling liveliness of Gemini.

This New Moon includes a conjunction of Mars to the south lunar node, signifying a release of something from the past. If we allow ourselves to introduce greater fluidity into our emotions and feeling nature, that release will be facilitated and the awakening that we experience will be that much more magical.

The New Moon favors new adventures, so you can take advantage of this time by starting something new. Plant a seed now and it will grow! Gemini most particularly favors matters of the intellect, but also anything that will help us to adapt and change to new surroundings or experiences.

Planetary news this week, including Neptune retrograde

Nearly everyone now has heard of Mercury retrograde, thanks to the Internet. This is a good thing for those of us who follow the planets, because it’s easier to explain why we would rather wait until Mercury is out of retrograde to sign that contract. But because of the way we view the motion of the planets from Earth, all of the planets in our solar system and our astrological pantheon have retrograde cycles. In fact, the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) are viewed in retrograde motion for approximately half the year.

So it’s not that shocking a situation that Neptune is turning retrograde on the 18th and will be retrograde until November 24th. This happens every year, and Neptune is at a virtual standstill now as it prepares for its change of direction so its influence is quite potent. Neptune is the planet that inspires us to explore our inner spirituality and our creative outlets. Any Neptune cycle can create some confusion in the outer world as we turn our attention away from practical matters, so preparing for this cycle by examining those pragmatic types of things now to be sure everything is in its proper place will be quite helpful.

The Neptune retrograde period is perfect for:

Reassessing your spiritual practice from the inside out, or if you don’t have one, consult with your inner voice to see whether your spiritual connection might need a boost.
Focus more on emotional inspiration to achieve your dreams rather than concrete goals while maintaining a smart approach to the day to day realities of life. Neptune makes this more difficult, but it still must be done!

Gemini New Super Moon May 25th: Sparkly magic and wonder

The Sun has just entered the brilliant sign of Gemini, and now the Moon aligns with the Sun, fusing the solar consciousness with lunar magic at a time when the Moon is closest to Earth – a Super Moon (™ Richard Nolle) and one of a trio of Super New Moons (April, May and June).

Super Moons can exert a more powerful influence than ordinary lunations – on a personal level we may feel this as a burst of emotional energy and intensity. Globally, Super Moons are associated with an increase in tidal intensity and seismic forces. Richard calls the Super New Moons “stealth Super Moons” because we don’t see the huge Super Moon in all its glory.

Gemini season tends to speed up time – a firehose of information, thoughts and ideas can be somewhat overwhelming but also exciting and enlightening. Under the influence of Gemini we are more open to new experiences and recreating ourselves by trying on new personas and ways of thinking. Here we have not only the Sun and Moon in Gemini, but also Mars, the planet of action and initiation. There are so many choices now – so many attractive options it can be somewhat dizzying. But an opposition from Saturn, planet of form and structure, will help to ground and contain us.

This New Moon is opposed by the Black Moon Lilith, suggesting that a deep and ancient voice from our past may emerge and demand to be heard. In addition, a challenging square from Pluto (intensity and transformation) to Venus (relationships) could create some stress in our interpersonal connections or at the very least, intensify these contacts and facilitate their evolution.

Gemini New Moon, May 28 2014

The New Moon in Gemini occurs on May 28th. Because the New Moon is the beginning of a new lunar cycle, there is a fresh new energy that is available to us at the New Moon. It’s an opportunity to make a clean start and begin anew.

Gemini is the sign of the twins, and often it manifests as two faces of the same person which never have an opportunity to meet. We experience this internally as duality – a part of us seeks one experience and another part of us craves its opposite. When our values are not in alignment it becomes more difficult for us to focus and achieve our goals.

For this reason, Gemini times are not great for goal setting. But they ARE good for exposing ourselves to new things so that we can try on new experiences and see how we are changed by them. So during this Gemini New Moon, try something new that you have never tried before. Maybe something that has never even occurred to you to try, or something you are certain you won’t like. Try it just because you can.

Gemini loves to talk and communicate, so using words and language will be greatly supported over the next few days.

This New Moon includes a square from the Sun and Moon to Neptune. Neptune squares are amazing, creative, spiritually opening. But they can also create illusion and make it difficult to focus if work is required. In addition, Gemini itself lacks focus, preparing to explore all of the myriad of experiences that are offered to us at the moment.
