Jupiter Sextile Neptune

Astrological update for the week of July 27-August 3, 2020

This week we enjoy a return of the harmonious sextile from Jupiter to Venus as well as a Full Moon.  But before you get too comfortable, I wanted to lead in with a reality check about the heavy Capricornian influence and the need to be smart with our economic security in the time of COVID-19.  Transcript is below the video, but I hope you’ll check out the video and subscribe to the channel!  Please forgive transcription errors.

Hey everybody, my name is Lynn Hayes. Welcome back to my channel. I really appreciate your joining me here. Every week we talk about the astrological influences for the coming week and how they’re going to be affecting us.

And this week I would like to start just by talking about Capricorn. If you’ve been watching these videos or reading any other astrological material, you will know that there have been three planets in Capricorn throughout the year. So this has been a heavily Capricornian influence time. We’ve had Jupiter in Capricorn, we’ve had Saturn in Capricorn. We’ve had Pluto in Capricorn since 2008. And the reason I want to talk about that today is I’m going to be talking about a much more buoyant, positive, dreamy, imaginative cycle. And before we get to that, I want to lay out the reality check.

We’re in a time right now where we’re going to be facing some very difficult challenges. The Economics of the COVID-19 situation do not look good. The US is heading into a Pluto return, where Pluto in the sky is returning to the place that it […]

Sunday inspiration and the Virgo Full SuperMoon

photo by Laurent Laveder from Spaceweather

Under the influence of the Virgo Full SuperMoon (™ Richard Nolle) on March 9, 2020 we encounter a polarity between an urge to transcend life’s cold hard realities and the necessity of a well-defined and grounded life in the material world.  With the Pisces Sun conjunct Neptune for a double dose of Piscean glamour, magic, creative imagine, and potential for confusion, the scale is heavily weighted against the Virgo Moon which seeks to create order and find meaning in the smallest of details that are necessary for life in a body.

What is a SuperMoon?  A SuperMoon (coined by astrologer Richard Nolle and now in common usage) is a Full or New Moon that occurs when the Moon is at its closest point to the Earth (perigee).  The Moon appears larger in the sky, and is not only symbolically more powerful but also arguably exerts a stronger force on human behavior, amplifying the effects of the Full Moon.

Jupiter harmonizes with this Full Moon (and Neptune) to help to provide the expansiveness that further enhances the Piscean energies, so even though this is the Virgo Full Moon we may find the Piscean energies to be in ascendance.  This requires a fair amount of letting go of our need to control while still maintaining our daily rituals and routines for the Virgo Moon.  Meanwhile Venus in Taurus, seeking stability and security the pleasures of earthly existence, conjoins rebellious Uranus for a heavy dose of disruption and an urge for a radical change that will shake up our routines and create more space and air.

Under this Full Moon we find ourselves needing to integrate all of these […]

Pisces New Moon: A magical cornucopia of heart-opening gifts

That title may seem like an exaggeration, but this New Moon in Pisces is amplified by a beautiful sextile between Jupiter and Neptune to bring out the best of the Pisces archetype which, let’s face it, can be a bit dreamy and ungrounded sometimes.  Jupiter and Neptune are connected through their rulership of Pisces – Jupiter as the traditional ruler, and Neptune as the modern ruler.

Under the Pisces influence we often throw ourselves to the winds, eagerly willing to sacrifice our individual pain for the bliss of Universal consciousness.  This urge for self-sacrifice can, at its worst, exalt the concept of martyrdom and convert it to victimhood.  The challenge is to find the rapture of transcendence and surrender without losing ourselves in the process and that is where Jupiter and Neptune can be of assistance as they harmonize to produce the clearest of songs – the most magical of coincidences, and the most illuminating of ideas.

Like any New Moon, this is a time to wipe the slate clean and begin anew.  We are finishing with the dry details of Saturn-ruled Aquarius and Capricorn, and moving into the season of imagination and dreams.  Mercury, planet of the mind and communication, is traveling retrograde right now and will dance past both the Sun and Moon over the next few days which will likely bring up something unfinished which needs to be reconsidered while Mercury is retrograde.  Mercury is debilitated in the sign of Pisces – the watery misty imagination and creative inspiration of Pisces has the tendency to weaken the ability of Mercury to do its job of carrying communications clearly and effectively. Pisces is a wonderful sign for compassion, intuition, […]

Sunday inspiration: The journey to the Divine

With Jupiter in a sextile to Neptune now, culminating next week, I thought this piece holds a key to the awakening that is possible under the Jupiter/Neptune combination. ❤️

The deepest domain of your psyche, the most unconscious domain of your psyche, needs consciousness to become self-aware—hence the spiritual impulse. It comes and gets you. Then we attach our agenda to it, like “I hope this makes me feel better, and makes my life more complete.” And that’s fine. It will use that, too. It’s understandable that we add on our human hopes not to suffer so much. But this impulse actually originates beyond the pleasure principle. It’s about something else.

The journey is actually in both directions. We need the divine, and it needs us every bit as much as we need it. It needs the consciousness. That’s basically what spirituality is: You’re making conscious the domains of human experience that are generally unconscious. That’s why you feel the pull, and you don’t know where it is coming from or where is it going. You wonder, “Why do I care about all this?” It means it’s coming from a domain of your being or your psyche that’s unconscious to you. You’re just conscious of the pull or the yearning. That yearning is not just yours; it actually originates from its completion.

So when we go into that deep domain, some dimension of consciousness comes in, and all of a sudden it’s like the lights come on. It’s awake, and when it’s awake, all the yearning ceases. The seeking ceases. The seeker ceases. It all just drops away, because it’s been satisfied. It’s not so much the human that’s been satisfied; that dimension of consciousness has […]
