Sparkling Libra New Moon with a Uranian twist

Tarot Justice by Art Magic Tarot Justice by Art Magic

The New Moon in Libra on October 12th-13th invites us to find our own peaceful center within where true equanimity will aid us in rebalancing those areas of our life which are under stress or out of whack.  Libra is the sign of balance, symbolized by the scales of justice.  Under the influence of Libra we may find ourselves swinging from one extreme to another as we attempt to achieve a neutral point that will take us back to the equilibrium that comes from being truly in balance with our own emotions and drives.

Like all New Moons, this Libra lunation marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.  Intentions that are set now will make their mark throughout the next 28 days or so.  With the energy of the Sun and Moon working together, the yang solar influence fuses with the yin lunar receptivity and acts as a powerful symbol of the yearning for balance which is so important under Libra.

Uranus, planet of radical change and electrical impulses, is poised in a tense opposition to the New Moon which will counterbalance that Libran inner harmony.  While we find that center of peace within us, we will be challenged by Uranus to step out of our comfort zone and dare to open our minds to a new reality or a new way of thinking about our present one.

Under the Libra influence, everything around us becomes a mirror reflection of our inner world, and every action demands an equal reaction.  It’s important to understand the interconnectedness between what we experience within, and what we draw into our lives from the outside.  This New Moon can aid in this understanding and facilitate our ability to alchemize every […]

Sunday inspiration and planetary news

earth grand trineThis week’s inspiration is the Grand Trine in Earth that is blessing us from the heavens over the next couple of weeks.  A Grand Trine occurs when three (or more) planets align in a triangular formation, dividing the circle of the zodiac into thirds.  The number three is a perfect number: it cannot be subdivided and creates a perfect balance.

Astrologically, the trine formation promotes ease and harmony, with each influence flowing into the next.  Grand Trines in earth encourage stability and security, with a practical application for all of our ideas (air), feelings (water) and excitement (Fire).

Pluto in Capricorn was first in a trine formation to Jupiter in Taurus early in 2011, and this is the second phase of that cycle.  Jupiter, as King of the Gods, encourages us to seek experiences that are larger than ourselves and when harmonized with Pluto, that process becomes easier and achieves greater magnification.  This is an excellent dynamic for manifestation.

Over the next two weeks or so Mars in Virgo will get into the act.  Mars celebrates the inspiration and fire that comes from the belly and provides motivation for our goals and aspirations, but in Virgo Mars is not particularly dynamic.  Mars in Virgo prefers to take care of the details, but the trines from Jupiter and Pluto encourages us to expand our view (Jupiter) and unleash the power (Pluto) that lies within us.

When a planet opposes another planet that is a part of a Grand Trine that formation becomes a Kite, and we have Chiron right now in opposition to Mars and serving as the fulcrum for the Kite formation.  The opposition contains stress and tension that helps to motivate the Grand Trine into action, so […]

Jupiter in Taurus, 2011-2012

Jupiter in TaurusJupiter will enter the sign of Taurus on June 4th, leaving the sign of Aries where he has inspired revolutionary behavior across the Middle East and moving into a more grounded place of stability, where our ideas and inspiration that took hold under the Aries influence begin to take root and flower.

The astrological Jupiter represents our yearning for meaning in life and our desire for expansion and growth.  Jupiter brings optimism, adventure, good fortune and prosperity, but is also present in experiences of frustration in which we feel that our blessings aren’t big enough; that our world isn’t grand enough.

The sense of meaning that we seek under Jupiter’s tutelage is different from the absolute Truth that Pluto teaches when we have lost everything we have depended on and are left with only the reality of Being.

Taurus is an Earth sign that is traditionally ruled by Venus, but I like to think of the Earth as a second ruler of Taurus.  Taurus cherishes everything about the earth: the pleasure of living in a body with five senses, the feeling of the dirt in a garden filled with flowers, the sense of being rooted in a life that is filled with comfort and security.

When Jupiter moves through Taurus we begin to feel a desire to become rooted and bloom quite literally where we are planted.  The rebellions that were fostered when Jupiter traveled through Aries will need to find a stable place from which to grow.  Economic security is important when the planet of fortune travels through the sign of acquisition, and learning to grow our wealth is likely to become a greater concern than it was before.

Jupiter is often spoke of […]
