Jupiter Uranus conjunction

Jupiter in Aries 2011

Jupiter in AriesJupiter first moved into Aries last spring with the first phase of the  conjunction of Jupiter to Uranus.  This meeting of the two planets of liberation in the sign of initiation was the instigator for the alignments in cardinal planets that I called the Cardinal Drama.  With up to seven planets and luminaries interacting in the early degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn) last summer, it was a powerful force for change.  Jupiter and Uranus then retrograded back into Pisces where they completed the second two phases of their conjunction.  With Jupiter now back in Aries, we begin to move forward to complete the work of last year’s planetary events.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.  This is the beginning of new experiences – in Aries we tend to approach our lives from a place of innocence.  Jupiter in Aries is accurately depicted by the Fool card in the Tarot.  The Rider Waite fool depicts someone who approaches their life with complete trust and innocence.  It’s a beautiful day, the Sun is shining, and they’re about to walk off a cliff.  The little dog is barking in warning, but the Fool has complete trust that the Universe will take care of him and protect him.  Jupiter in Aries offers a fresh new beginning of faith and trust in the Universe and in our own ability to follow the path that our soul has set out for us.

Over the past few years Saturn and Uranus have been in opposition to each other, pitting the conservative thinking and desire to retreat to the past of Saturn against the tremendous force for change that Uranus inspires.  Uranus rebels against […]

Stock market optimism continues a little longer

The conjunction of Jupiter to Uranus is still creating optimism in the markets that defy the news: “U.S. stocks closed higher Monday as investors were encouraged by earnings from Citigroup and a measure of home-builder confidence that topped expectations.” (read more here…)

Jupiter is the planet of confidence, and in tandem with Uranus it seeks sudden changes and liberation from negativity.  The combination of these two planets is not the most realistic time in the world, and we are seeing this manifesting in the market, which rebounded today based on supposed confidence from home builders after an index reported today that builder confidence is up.  The National Association of Home Builders chief economist interjected the voice of reason, saying “it could be another couple of years before the industry returns to normal.”  There are signs of recovery, and that we have turned the corner as I’ve been reporting here.  But the fundamentals are not strong enough yet to create real movement in the value of equities.

Mars is in Scorpio now, the sign of shared values and other people’s money (and therefore investments and the stock market), and Mars is moving into alignment to trine both Jupiter and Uranus.  This should be a pretty positive week for the financial markets, although the retrograde movement of Venus will keep things from moving too far, too fast.

October is often a down month for the Dow, but after the intense planetary cycles of this summer investors are ready for a return of happy exuberance.  They are likely to continue to find it until Mercury enters Scorpio on October 21st and begins to analyze the financial situation a little more thoroughly.

Overall, though, I continue to feel that we have turned the […]

Wisdom for the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction

I love this from Dharmaruci:

“Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” OK, we all know the quote that isn’t by Goethe*. But the astrology for it right now is quite extraordinary: a Uranus-Jupiter conjunction at the beginning of Aries. You won’t see the like of it again in your lifetime. Aries is the sign of fiery new beginnings, particularly the start of the sign. Aries is the ‘begin it’ and ‘boldness’. Uranus is the ‘genius’. And Jupiter is the ‘power and magic.’

In about 3 weeks Uranus starts to go retrograde, a period of putting together the nuts and bolts of the new venture, the new idea. He will reverse back into late Pisces and then re-enter Aries next March, when the new idea will be firmly established, and new developments coming out of the original idea can arise. But Uranus will be 9 degrees from Jupiter by that time, and the firework display will be drawing to its end.

So the next few weeks are crucial for these bold new beginnings.

read more here…

In Aries there is a bold move to action, and then when Jupiter and Uranus move back into Pisces there is a bit of retreat back into potentiality and making the internal adjustments that are needed for these bold new beginnings DR talks about to unfold.  In my view that is an invaluable time to ensure that we are prepared for the changes that are coming up when Uranus/Pluto follows Jupiter/Uranus.

*explanation added, because evidently I am not as well-educated as Dharmaruci’s readers!

Some astonishing lightning strikes: Zeus and Ouranos at work

lightning strikesPerhaps it’s purely coincidence that there have been three big lightning strikes over the past few days as Jupiter and Uranus conjoin at zero degrees Aries, the most fiery of fire signs.

It began last week when a man’s fiancee was struck by lightning as he was proposing to her in the mountains of North Carolina.

Then a bolt of lightning struck a tank at a gas tank farm in Greensboro, resulting in a huge fire that closed two North Carolina interstates.

Then lightning struck a ship in the Gulf of Mexico that was involved in the attempt to clean up the disaster, slowing down relief efforts there.

Last night a 62-foot tall statue of Jesus outside a church in Monroe Ohio was struck by lightning and erupted in flames.  The pastor said that Jesus took the hit to protect the home for at-risk women next door.

There have been lots of more minor stories about lightning as well: a letter carrier was struck by lightning in St. Louis during a storm; a motorcyclist was struck in the head by lightning in Colorado, lightning has been setting houses on fire in Atlanta and North Carolina.

Lightning is associated with Jupiter (Zeus).  He was called the Lightning Maker and he is commonly depicted holding lightning bolts in his hands.  But lightning is more Uranian in nature: it comes quickly, with no warning; it produces electricity which is ruled by Uranus; it occurs in the sky, the realm of Uranus, the Sky God.  People who are struck by lightning are forever changed by the experience, and Uranus rules sudden events that change our lives in radical ways.

With Jupiter and Uranus both in Aries – cardinal (initiatory) fire – the symbology of these lightning […]

Jupiter meets Uranus and the countdown begins

Jupiter Uranus conjunction(Please refrain from making scatalogical jokes!)  Well folks, we’re getting down to it – the planetary drama that has  been much discussed over the past few years is finally upon us.  Our challenge is to be alert and aware of the impending explosion into consciousness of  a new awareness and experience, without devolving into fear as change begins to spin our world around.

The countdown to the Cardinal Drama, as I like to call it, really began back in early 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn.  The Cardinal signs are the signs of initiation and change: Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  They are the most active of the signs, and planets in these signs tend to dominate other planetary influences.  The movement of Pluto (death and rebirth) into Capricorn (structure, discipline, reality) created a wave of consolidation that forever altered the financial landscape.

The second event leading up to the Cardinal Drama was the opposition between Uranus (that which changes) and Saturn (that which remains the same), an opposition which is still underway through the summer.

Over the next few weeks we’ll see the intensity begin to increase as the pure energy of life continues to accelerate.  This might feel like a carnival ride – thrilling for many, but frightening for some.  The intensity of the consciousness change that is at work here can completely transform us as individuals and as communities.  Here’s what’s coming up for the summer of 2010.

May 28 – Uranus enters Aries, instigating a change in the electromagnetic frequency that surrounds the planet (Uranus rules electromagnetic energy which is a building block of consciousness).

Because the cardinal signs initiate new activity, when planets move from a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) to a […]
