Mercury in Pisces

3.23.21 It could be another disruptive day when we must face difficult facts

art by Sam Brown

The challenging square between Mercury in Pisces and Mars in Gemini from yesterday’s post is at its peak today, so the potential for confusion and lack of clarity is likely to prevail.  Efforts at productivity and effective communication are likely to be frustrated by a fog of illusion and distraction.  In addition, the Leo Moon is very active and challenges both Uranus (disruption) and Saturn (reality check) to perhaps force some kind of confrontation which may be difficult, but which will result in greater illumination and understanding.

Today is best spent gathering information, but if you can wait to make important decisions for a day or two it might be more productive.  Today’s energies are more conducive to opening the mind to new ideas and breaking up stagnant thought patterns and that certainly has its own value! ❤️

3.23.21. Confusing messages today with Mercury square Mars

art by Alex Tooth

Mercury, planet of the mind and communication,  is in Pisces right now where it loves to dream and imagine expansive and lofty ideas, and where it acts more from feelings and intuition than facts. Today Mercury makes a challenging square aspect to Mars in Gemini which may generate a lot of excitement and motivation without a clear goal or direction.  Mars in Gemini is so fascinated by so many things, and the hunger for learning is intense under that aspect; however, Gemini and Pisces are both mutable signs which are adaptable, but not always very focused.

You may be flooded with ideas today, and lots of thoughts about things to do and how to do them, but don’t be surprised if you flounder and find it difficult to actually take a step or find a clear path forward.  Similarly, our communication (Mercury) with others could be fraught with confusion and lack clarity. Today is a great day to gather these thoughts and insights, but maybe wait a day or two until this aspect has passed and the fog clears.

3.16.21 The meaning of Mercury in Pisces March 15-April 3, 2021

art by SepiaLepus

Mercury has just moved out of intellectual Aquarius and into Pisces, the sign of the dreamer.  Although traditional astrologers will say that Mercury is in its detriment in Pisces because its ability to think rationally is affected by Pisces’ watery nature which tends to act like a psychic sponge and the boundaries between reality and the mystic are often blurred, for spiritual matters and the expansion of the imagination Mercury is at its best in Pisces where it is unaffected by personal ego and rigid belief systems.

The use, or non-use, of words and language for the purposes of magic and imagination is what Mercury in Pisces is all about. With Mercury in Pisces the inner landscape becomes rich and colorful, a gorgeous tapestry of thoughts, ideas and dreams. Mercury is one of four planets in Pisces, so until the Sun and Venus move into Aries later this week the Piscean magic is strong.  We may not be as organized or focused right now, but the creative potential is endless!

Astrological forecast for the week of March 25, 2019, including Saturn/Pluto

There’s been a lot of action in the astrological skies lately:  Uranus shifting back into Taurus, Chiron moving back into Aries, and a SuperMoon at the Equinox.  Things are settling down some, but the news is not all good because Saturn and Pluto are at the closest point to a conjunction as they will be until they meet next year.

Saturn (tests and challenges) and Pluto (creative destruction) are both in Capricorn and will collide in January of 2020.  The combination of these two planets generally denotes a destructive force that can clear the path of any debris that is interfering with the natural movement of the Universe towards balance.  This has the potential to be a positive force, but it is also associated with contraction and challenge, especially now since both planets are in the contracting sign of Capricorn. Saturn and Pluto will not reach the full conjunction this year, but between the end of March and the end of June they will be close enough that we will begin to feel the belt tightening.  This is not a time for risk taking, especially if your own chart is affected, and we will likely see a recession occur during the summer in the financial markets.

Mercury (mind and communication) is retrograde in the mystical sign of Pisces right now, and on the 25th Mercury aligns with Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, to open up the higher creative and inspirational centers.  This alignment will continue a bit after Mercury turns direct, until about April 4th.  The next week is perfect for creative endeavors and anything requiring imagination or spiritual exploration.  It is less excellent for business ventures or making decisions that require a practical and grounded approach, especially with Saturn […]
