Mercury in Sagittarius

Astrological update for the week of November 22-29, 2021: Finding balance

Saturn square Uranus. There is really only one storm happening right now and that is the final square alignment between Saturn and Uranus, The Story of 2021 (™Lynn Hayes).  Saturn demands that we obey the rules, and Uranus inspires us to break out of rules that don’t support our growth as authentic individuals.  These two can be powerful allies – Uranus and Saturn are connected through their joint rulership of Aquarius where the rules and structures of Saturn are enhanced and modernized through the creative radicalization of Uranus.  But we haven’t seen that in real life this year.  Instead there has been chaos and violent disputes (Uranus) over control measures (Saturn) to attempt to hold the Coronavirus at bay.

The final phase of this alignment occurs in mid-December, after which the two planets will separate from the exact square aspect until September through November 2022 when they will resume their battles for one final episode (stay tuned for my analysis of the astrology of 2022, coming in a few weeks). The lesson here is to find the balance point between blindly following the rules of others (Saturn) and blindly rebellion against any control, even if it is for the highest good (Uranus).

Saturn sextile Chiron.  A fortunate subtheme of 2021 has been the gentle sextile between Saturn and Chiron, helping to soften the hard edges and facilitate the moving through challenges with greater ease.  These more subtle alignments are often buried under the drama of the more intense and challenging influences, but they are operating nonetheless to relieve some of the pressure.  This combination began in February 2021 and culminates this week.  Focusing on an intention to heal some of the challenges in our lives can help us to better […]

12.1.20 Mercury enters Sagittarius today, encouraging a different point of view

Mercury makes the jump to Sagittarius today after a longer than usual run in Scorpio. Under the influence of powerful and intense Scorpio, Mercury (mind and intellect) does not embrace compromise and tends to be somewhat vindictive where arguments and controversy are concerned.  In Sagittarius, Mercury tends to be broad-minded and easier to adapt new ideas and opinions, making all kinds of conversations easier and more productive.

Mercury in Sagittarius encourages us to be more positive and think more expansively.  If you’re like me, you may have been really feeling the isolation of the pandemic lately as we move into winter in the northern hemisphere.  Perhaps the optimism and facility with new ideas and adventures will help to bring in new ideas for ways to maintain a healthy balance during this challenging time.  Jupiter and Saturn both moving into Aquarius in a few weeks will likely complete that process, so we can get a head start now.

Hi everybody, welcome back to my channel. My name is Lynn Hayes and in today’s video we’ll be talking about the astrology for the week of November 30 2020. This video will include some talk about the upcoming eclipse season, which I feel is going to be very significant – it’s going to lead us into the conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn and Aquarius, which is going to come up around the time of the winter solstice.

Now, just to catch you up on some things from last week, we had Neptune turning directed, had been retrograde for the last six months or so.  Neptune is pretty stationary in the sky, it hasn’t moved much for at least the last couple of months, and it will be fairly stationary for the next month or so as it starts to pick up speed. Neptune, remember is the planet of imagination and creativity and spirituality, it helps us to break out of any kind of rut that we find ourselves in by Neptune can also create some illusion and confusion. And right now Neptune is in a […]

Planetary news this week! A Full Moon on 12/12 at 12:12!

There is lots to unpack this week!  Grab something to drink and let’s get started.

First, the challenging square aspect between Jupiter’s expansion and Chiron’s pressure to squeeze out the pain from old wounds for release is on the wane.  If this has affected you personally, either emotionally or physically, you may find you feel better this week.  Chiron, having been retrograde since July, is stationary in the sky as it prepares to turn direct this week so its energies promoting healing of old wounds is intensified now.

Then Mercury, planet of the mind and communication, leaves intense Scorpio for buoyant Sagittarius on December 9th and will travel through Sag until December 28th.   Mercury is more optimistic in Sagittarius, and that optimism can filter down to we humans even if your natal Mercury is in a darker sign, like my own Mercury in Scorpio.  Mercury harmonizes in a trine to Chiron on the 10th, helping us to understand the challenges that we face and devise ways in which to move past them.  But between the 11th and the 13th, Venus is sandwiched between stern Saturn which could create some bumps in our relationships if expectations aren’t met, and Pluto which could bring out any hidden agendas or power conflict to disrupt our relationships.

Mercury and Venus events last only a day or two so these are fleeting influences, but they are locked into the chart for the Full Moon on December 12th.   The Full Moon is at 12:12 am Eastern time, which is interesting from a numerological perspective.  Twelve is considered to be a holy number: there are twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve apostles, twelve knights of the Round Table, twelve successors of Muhammed.  Of course […]
