Neptune retrograde

Astrological news this week: Watery realms under the Cancer New Moon and Neptune station

Astrological update for the week of June 27-July 4, 2022

Neptune stations retrograde.  The role of Neptune is to inspire the transcendence of ordinary life and ascension into a more illuminated experience of creative inspiration. Under its influence Spirit blossoms into the material world. Neptune is associated with experiences that bring spiritual bliss, but idealism and imagination can also bring confusion and self-deception if we’re not aware. Neptune’s role in the astrological pantheon, in my opinion, is to encourage us to seek out experiences which teach us that we are spiritual beings in a human experience.

This week Neptune turns retrograde. Like all of the outer planets, Neptune appears to travel retrograde for about half the year so this in itself is not a big story unless you yourself are under its influence right now. However, Neptune is associated with the spread of viruses and disease, and the past three Neptune stations (change of direction) have coincided with a new variant that took the Covid-19 virus in a new direction. Alpha & Beta both erupted a week after a Neptune station (SD) November 28, 2020. Delta was named one week after the Neptune station (SR) on June 25, 2021. And Omicron emerged a week before the Neptune station (SD) on December 1, 2021.

I’ve been watching the news to see if that pattern will continue, and so far it is only the Omicron variant that itself is mutating into lots of different subvariants. That could suggest that the Covid-19 virus itself is weakening, which would be very good news. Hopefully that will continue.

In any event, Neptune is a slow moving planet, and when it makes a “station” before changing direction it can remain at […]

7.6.21 – The last of the Mercury/Neptune confusion! And Venus as change agent

[art by Celestial Moon Fire Art] For some reason not mysterious given the nature of the post, this never posted and was never sent out to subscribers.  It’s a little late but I wanted it to go out anyway.

This Mercury retrograde has been exceptionally fraught with confusion and uncertainty, for me at least!  We can blame Neptune for that, since Mercury (mind and communication) has been in a square aspect cycle to mystical Neptune  since May 22, 2021.  Neptune has been virtually stationary for several months due to its retrograde turn on June 25th.  It’s tempting to try to gain control of situations in chaos, but the Neptune lesson is to let go and allow our life to unfold rather than try to control the details that may seem to be falling apart.  Neptune will remain stationary for the next month or so, meaning we will remain under its tutelage for some time, but in the meanwhile Mercury will be moving out of range of its fog and some level of clarity will resume.

We’ve been talking about how Mars (action) has activated the challenging square from Saturn to Uranus – the story of change which is the story of 2021 – and over the next few days Venus will soothe the rough edges wrought by Mars as it interacts with first Saturn today and then Uranus tomorrow.  Venus aspects are usually mild and serve to bring a touch of peace and beauty into a situation – something which is sorely needed right now!  Today and tomorrow are good days to focus on the things that are good and lovely in our world, and open our eyes to ways in which we can find greater balance and harmony. ❤️

Weekend update: Mercury direct, Venus in Leo, and Neptune Rx

Art by Marie Desbons

I have to say, this has been the weirdest Mercury retrograde in recent memory, for me at least. As many of you know, I like to soothe people’s anxieties about Mercury retrograde and the truth is that snafus happen when Mercury isn’t retrograde too.  But this one, with Mercury having changed direction in a square to Neptune, has brought a Neptunian layer that has just been weird.  Orders not just going wrong but disappearing entirely.  Contractors giving bad information based on wrong assumptions.  Schedules being disrupted by people showing up when they said they wouldn’t.  Just weird!  Maybe it’s worse for me because all of this has happened right on my Gemini ascendant.

Neptune has been stationary in the sky through the entire three-week retrograde period – when a planet is stationary it carries a more potent punch, and Neptune’s purpose is inspire us to step away from the mundane world of schedules and to-do lists and instead move into more of an imaginative and creative experience.

How has it been for you? Let me know in the comments!

Mercury has now turned direct, but it will make that returning square to Neptune again on July 6th so if like me you’ve been having a weird time, don’t get too comfortable quite yet.  😃

Speaking of Neptune, in other big news Neptune has just changed direction so it will continue to be stationary for another few weeks.  Stationary planets appear to stand still in the sky, and therefore if you are having a transit of Neptune to your personal chart (look to see if you have any planets in the 18-28 degree range of Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius) you may continue to feel somewhat confusing energies, like […]

Astrological forecast for the week of June 14-21, 2020 including retrogrades and Summer Solstice eclipse

Mercury turns retrograde this week, for a total of five retrograde planets.  With all this retrograde energy will we even notice Mercury turning retrograde?  And what’s up with the eclipse at the Summer Solstice?  There’s a lot going on this week so tune in and learn more.  The transcription is below the video and promo stuff if you prefer to read.

Welcome to another week’s astrological forecast. This week’s forecast is for the week of June 14 to the 21st 2020. I’ll be covering Mercury Retrograde, I’ll be covering the changes of direction of both Neptune and Venus. We’ll be covering the eclipse on the 21st which is going to be quite significant. And I’m sure we’ll talk about it next week but eclipse energies start to build a few days before, four or five days before, so I’d like you to be prepared and ready for that.

I want to start by talking about the retrogrades and I know for some of you who have been listening every week, this is all old hat for you. But this whole year between June and October, the middle of October and probably into November, there are going to be between four and seven retrograde planets. That’s a tremendous number. If you think about the fact that three planets retrograde is an average number, it’s very rare to have no planets retrograde or one planet retrograde. But it’s even more rare to have six and seven planets retrograde which is what we have coming up. Currently we have Venus, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter all traveling retrograde. […]
