Planetary news this week! Sagittarius New Moon, Venus in Capricorn and Neptune Direct

Deviant Art

The Sagittarius New Moon occurs on November 26th marking the beginning of Sagittarius season.  Sagittarius times tend to be more lighthearted and hopeful than periods dominated by, say, Scorpio, which we have been going through over the past few weeks.  Two planets still linger in Scorpio, but the New Moon in Sagittarius offers an illumination into the ideal of hope and a belief that we can indeed find meaning in our lives that brings a sense of peace and fulfillment.

This New Moon is harmonized by a trine from Chiron, which helps to soften the rough edges and facilitate the healing of any old wounds that linger in the psyche.  However, an awkward inconjunct* from the New Moon to Uranus suggests that there is a pressure to break away from old patterns and begin something new, although we may not yet be aware of what that ought to be.  Often the 30 degree and 150 degree angles plant seeds of irritation and restlessness that are fulfilled when a stronger planetary cycle comes along.

The energies of the New Moon begin a few days away from the actual alignment, so we are in the shadow already of this New Moon.  This is the perfect time to seek an adventure, either in the mind or an actual adventure in the physical world.  Under the influence of the Sagittarius New Moon we are encouraged to open up to ever greater possibilities and never to settle for a limited or safe alternative.

Venus enters Capricorn on November 25th, and for a few weeks our relationships with others taken on a more sober flavor.  After a few weeks in Sagittarius, Venus is now focused more on Doing the Right […]

Fall into the drama of the Equinox Aries Full Moon, September 24th

Aries New MoonAries is the first sign of the zodiac – the sign of action, initiation, adventure, independence and courage.  Ruled by Mars, Aries has an aggressive force but it is a force for self-expression and self-awareness.  When the Moon is in Aries, we find ourselves willing to face our fears and inspired to break through the barriers that keep us from blazing the trail of our highest desires.

As in every Full Moon, this Aries Full Moon is opposite the Libra Sun, setting the Aries focus of initiating something new to satisfy ourselves against the Libran need to placate and please in order to achieve balance and harmony.  When the Moon is full, the lunar light (in this case Aries) obscures the light of the sun (in this case Libra), strengthening the Aries force to assert our personal will into the world.  This Full Moon is just one degree away from the equinox point which intensifies its power, but also amplifies the potential of our dreams, intentions and desires to create real magic.

This is a highly dynamic Full Moon as it is chock full of planetary aspects.  In this case Chiron’s wounding and healing energies are strongly connected to the Sun and the Moon so we are likely to experience an eruption of old emotional hurts and the clearing out of psychic debris.  Saturn (tests and challenges) forces us to face realities that may or may not be pleasant but must be dealt with.  Uranus (radical change) applies the pressure of dissatisfaction to keep us from becoming too comfortable.  Mercury (mind and communication) is scrambled by the emotionality of the Moon and overwhelmed by the light of the Sun, making rational thinking more difficult.

With this much planetary juju, […]

Planetary news this week: expect intensity

Storm Brewing by  Mikey Studios.  Rebellious Uranus in a challenging square to intensely transformational Pluto. Mercury and Uranus, the two planets of the mind, have just turned retrograde.  A coronal mass ejection from the Sun has hit the Earth’s magnetic field, causing alterations to the Earth’s magnetosphere and a spike in the planetary K index of geomagnetic activity (to a 6 at the time of this writing). But wait, there’s more! Jupiter is moving into an awkward aspect (quincunx) to Pluto this week.  This  is not a major aspect but can create some problems in light of all of these other dynamics occurring at the same time. Jupiter seeks expansion with confidence and a relentless optimism that can defy reality, and under this aspect Pluto will attempt to put a kibosh on any grandiosity that has no basis in reality and is likely to fail anyway. This aspect culminates on the 18th, but meanwhile Mars will set off the awkwardness of this dynamic with several different interactions: a harmonious trine to Jupiter, enhancing the expansive desire to shake off any restrictions, a challenging square to Pluto – a defiant aspect that virtually ensures a major eruption of some kind, and a tense opposition to Uranus which radicalizes the experience and suggests a shocking shift of some kind which provides an outlet for the intense energy of this alignment. Mars moves relatively quickly and its effects don’t last long, but it can serve as a trigger for greater and more powerful cycles.  With Uranus and Pluto moving towards another alignment this fall, the Mars influence is nothing to sneeze at.  Mars brings its aggressive urge and ramps up the energy, which we can utilize in our […]

7/7/07

Last year there was quite a bit of hysteria as the calendar approached June 6, 2006 or of course 6/6/6. This year the masses appear to be convinced that 7/7/7 will bring astonishing good fortune:

I got a feeling about that day,” he said. “I’ll win over $700. Everything will go people’s way that day. At least hopefully mine.”

Gambles of a different sort will take couples down the aisle. Kathleen Murray, deputy editor of The Knot – – said 38,000 of the company’s members are getting married that day, up from the normal 12,000 for a Saturday in July.http://www.theknot.com/

“This is a true phenomenon,” she said. “I’ve never seen anything like this before. Seven has always been considered the luckiest number, and with three sevens in a row brides and grooms feel they’re hitting the jackpot that day.” . . .

The Ritz Carlton Hotel’s Central Park location in New York is offering a July 7 wedding package with a reception for 77, a seven-tier wedding cake, seven Tiffany diamonds for the bride, and a seven-night honeymoon at any Ritz in the world for $77,777.

“The numerology on this day – 7-7-07 – is phenomenal,” he wrote on his Web site. “Seven represents the aura. Three sevens equals 21 (2+13). Three represents the positive mind. Add the 7 p.m. hour and you have four sevens, which equals 28 (2+810). Ten is the radiant body.” . . .

“The number is significant in the Bible because seven represents a covenant,” said Julia Richardson, a spokeswoman for the event, titled The Call. “We feel we want to make a covenant with the Lord to pursue him. Whether it’s 1,000 people or 100,000 people, we feel we can bring about a change through prayer and fasting.”

Numerology is one of the sacred sciences, and […]
