Astrological news this week: Surprising adjustments with Mars and Venus square Uranus

Astrological update for the week of March 21, 2022

If you can identify this artist please let me know in the comments! As the week begins the energies of last week’s Equinox are still winding down, forcing adjustments in expectations and laying the groundwork for a new season. The March Equinox occurs when the Sun enters Aries in the tropical system – the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of the zodiacal wheel. Aries is the sign of initiation, of blazing a new trail and forging ahead with courage and confidence, and there is a significant Uranus alignment in the chart of the Equinox.

Uranus is the planet that inspires us to break out of outmoded paradigms and ways of living which no longer fit the current reality, and this week Mars will form a challenging square to Uranus. Mars is in Aquarius right now where the primary motivator is innovation and change but also reason and intelligence, so the added influence of Uranus can help to break down barriers to progress. However, Uranus can inspire Mars to be somewhat reckless so it would be wise to exercise some caution.

Here is what you need to know for the week ahead. (Dates and times are for the Eastern time zone, please adjust for your own locality.)

Monday March 21.  The Moon is newly in Scorpio on Monday, intensifying feelings and evoking a sense of urgency where emotions are concerned. Fortunately a harmonious Mercury/Jupiter aspect culminates in the very early hours on Monday which helps us to find more emotional balance and general good vibes.  Mars builds all day towards a harmonious aspect to Chiron (sextile) to facilitate the flow of natural wisdom and positive energy.

The Moon […]

Astrological news this week: Stelliums, Virgo Full Moon, and Equinox news

Planetary forecast for the week of March 14-21, 2022.

art by Gwen Davies

You might have read some different articles this week about the intensity of the planets this week because the planets are all in a bunch. Astrological news is just like any other kind of media – we thrive on drama to bring in the eyeballs. But it seems to me that this week’s astrology is not nearly as dramatic as it was a few weeks ago when the Moon was in Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces and the planets were in even a tighter window of the zodiac wheel.

As this chart shows, on February 27th all of the visible planetary bodies (plus Neptune and Pluto) were within 60 degrees of the chart wheel which is very tight indeed. Marc Edmund Jones named this chart pattern the “bundle” when describing the natal chart – an intense focus which can lack perspective. This tight bundle intensified around February 26th with the Moon in Capricorn entering the bundle, and began to ease when the Moon moved into Aries on March 3rd and departed from the crowded area of the zodiac.

In any case, don’t be alarmed when you read articles like this, things are difficult enough in the world without adding unnecessary panic and anxiety to the mix.

Virgo Full Moon: The Moon will be full in Virgo on March 18, 2022 at 3:17 am EDT, just before the equinox.  Every Full Moon is full of gifts and blessings, and at this time when we have the Sun in a stellium in Pisces encouraging dreams and inspiration but also confusion, the Virgo Moon helps us to ground into our bodies […]

Weekend update: 3.20.21. The meaning of the March Equinox

art by Sue Wookey

With the Sun entering the sign of Aries at 5:37 am, the season of Spring has officially begun in the northern hemisphere.  On this day, the light and dark have achieved equal status: day and night are in balance.  Aries is the first sign in the zodiac and as such it is the sign of initiation and the point of beginning.  There is a burst of energy at the Aries point: an unbridled explosion of pure potential and action, and this is the energy that we are experiencing when we talk about “Spring Fever.”

The return of the ascendancy of the light has been celebrated for millenia, and the pagan celebrations of old became the spring celebrations of our major religions.  The Jewish festival of Passover is timed to the first Full Moon after the spring Equinox (the Paschal Full Moon), and Easter is celebrated the first Sunday after the Full Moon.  The idea of resurrection and freedom are a thread that runs through all of the celebrations at the spring Equinox which is essentially a Northern hemisphere holiday (in the Southern hemisphere of course this is the first day of autumn).

Aries season is beginning to build, and on Sunday Venus enters Aries at 10:16 am at which point there will be four planets including Chiron and Ceres, Sun and Venus in Aries.  The fire is emerging to energize and fuel a new beginning, a resurrection from the dark and an opportunity to shed the old skins of winter and open up a new chapter in the story of our lives. ❤️

Hey everybody, my name is Lynn Hayes Welcome back to my channel. In today’s video, we’re going to be talking about the astrology of the week, starting Monday, March 15, through Monday, March 22 2021. This week we have the spring equinox or the March Equinox if you’re in the southern hemisphere, and we also have Venus moving into Aries a little later in the week.

Before we get into that, I’d like to recap something I talked about last week and probably the week before, but right now there are no planets in retrograde motion until April 27. When Pluto turns retrograde will have no retrograde planets. When we have a planet that’s in retrograde motion, the influence of that planet tends to be hindered somewhat, it tends to be more subtle, it can sometimes cause us to look backwards and have to redo something from the past. We’re very familiar with Mercury retrograde where we have to do that four times a year. It’s very rare for there to be no planets retrograde. And that suggests that right now, the energies are pretty free to move ahead as […]

This equinox Libra Full Moon brings a shift in perspective

FULL MOON AT THE EQUINOX!!

The time of the Full Moon, when the Sun in the sky is exactly opposite the Moon from our vantage point on earth, is always a time for balance.  The Sun is our conscious Self – our goals, our visions, our ideas that combine to create our lives.  The Moon illustrates our instincts and our subconscious needs and desires – the emotions that can be murky but always real and true.

The lunar cycle is symbolic of the dance between our conscious awareness and the inner world of the emotions, a polarity which requires balance and integration just as all polarities in astrology do.  The entire wheel of the zodiac is a system of polarities, in which each pair of signs represent oppositional forces that require balance and integration.  That is particularly true when the Moon is in Libra, the sign that more than any other embodies this dance.

Libra seeks to live an experience of harmony through peaceful interaction with others and a love of beauty and aesthetic pleasure.  This can lead to a highly sensitive nervous system, especially at the Full Moon.

The Full Moon in March occurs at 0 degrees Libra, with the Sun at the Aries Point.  This will be a significant energy portal as we shift into the new season under the Aries/Libra polarity.   Not only is this a new season, but the emotional impact of the Full Moon supercharges the shift from darkness to light, from winter to summer.  This is also a SuperMoon, meaning it is at its closest point to the Earth, but it is also at the first degree of the cardinal signs that shift us from one season into […]
