Astrological news this week: A Leo Full Moon and a burst of inspiration with Jupiter and Uranus

artist unknown

This week the Moon is full in Leo, a bright burst of joyful energy to help waken up the senses and stimulate the search for true joy and personal satisfaction.  With six planetary bodies in Saturn-ruled signs (four in Capricorn and two in Aquarius), the energies have been a bit heavy recently so a Full Moon in fire will give us a nice boost.

The beautiful alignment between Jupiter and Uranus discussed in last week’s post culminates this week, helping us to break out of old patterns and find new ways to break through obstacles. New opportunities may lurk behind corners, so be sure to pay attention. 😃

We also have Mercury moving from one Saturn-ruled sign (Capricorn) to another (Aquarius), but Aquarius benefits from the modern rulership of Uranus which breaks up outmoded ways of thinking (Mercury rules the mind and all matters of information and communication).  Mercury in Aquarius is the inventor, where Mercury in Capricorn is the scientist. Because of Mercury’s retrograde travels over the past few months Mercury has been in Capricorn for a longer time than it would normally travel through a sign. For the next few weeks we are dreaming up new and innovative ideas and adventures.

And now, the week ahead. Dates and times are for the Eastern time zone, please adjust for your own locality.

Monday February 14. Speaking of Venus, the patron goddess of Valentine’s Day, she conjoins Mars for much of the week, in Capricorn where they both are very business-like and practical. Tempers and excitement may run high, so this is a good week to do something active with friends and family rather than sit in front of the tv.

Meanwhile the Moon begins the week in Leo, […]

2.18.21 Sun enters Pisces and we rediscover the art of flow

art by John Emanuel Shannon

Don’t get me wrong – there are still four planets in Aquarius (Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus) so the electrical energy of Aquarius and its power to shatter old paradigms is still plenty intense. Yesterday’s hard square from Saturn (structures) to Uranus (radical new ideas) will still exert a strong influence for the next few weeks (see the posts from the past few days if you missed them), so there’s no need to get too comfortable.  But the Sun’s movement into Pisces, the sign of imagination and magic and spiritual blessings, is a welcome respite from some of the energetic excitement of Aquarius and helps to bring us in greater connection with our own inner being.

Pisces seeks the state of flow: the zone, the sense of being absorbed into something greater and more blissful than anything we can experience with our mind or personal emotions.  The Sun will soon (next week) be followed by Venus in Pisces, so we can look forward to a greater awareness of ways in which we can incorporate more flow into our own lives. In the meantime though, the Moon moves through Taurus tomorrow and challenges Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus which is likely to stir up emotions and attachments and then transits Mars for a final burst of irritation in the evening (EST). Remember the center, the space of silence that lies in a space untouched by noise and chaos – that’s where we will find balance and strength as we continue to recalibrate in the new reality. ❤️

Planetary news this week: a Pisces trip through magic

Sun in PiscesThe Sun has entered into dreamy Pisces – the “celestial dustbin” of the zodiac.  In Pisces everything that exists in the world comes together in a swirl of magic to be released like fairy dust into the ethers.  The Piscean experience is that of transcendence – it urges us to transcend our ordinary lives of mundane details and find bliss in a joyful dream.  This experience can occur in an infinite number of ways – through losing ourselves in our relationships, an experience of Samadhi in meditation, a walk in the woods or a sunset, creating a beautiful piece of art. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, and having just entered Pisces the Sun will align with Neptune on the 23rd of February.  For the next few days creativity is at a peak and it becomes easier to channel the divine within us into a form that can create happiness not only for us but also for those around us. A trine from the Sun to the North Node of the Moon opens doorways that help us in our evolutionary journey.  This is a beneficial energy that will help us from falling into the Pisces trap of becoming lost in the “glamour” of the fairy dust under which we see only want we want to see and lose track of the physical world entirely. In the  meantime, this Pisces/Neptune magic can open the heart to Divine Love in a way that nothing else can, opening portals in your relationships for deeper connection, facilitating your art or creative drive, and deepening your connection to Universal Wisdom.

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top […]

RIP Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs astrologySteve Jobs, former head of Apple Computing, died yesterday after battling pancreatic cancer since 2004.  He was 56 years old.

I profiled Mr. Jobs back in 2009:

Jobs has an interesting chart with the Sun in Pisces. Pisces is the sign of spirituality and transcending the boundaries of ordinary physical reality.  Pisces types are typically creative, inspirational, easygoing and meditative with a thirst for a spiritual experience.  They are also emotional and can be quite sensitive.  After dropping out of college, Jobs spent some time in 1974 backpacking through India, studying meditation and experimenting with psychedelic drugs.

Jupiter (optimism and confidence) is conjunct Uranus (innovation and radical behavior) in Jobs’ chart, signifying a person with a deeply restless nature, but also an innate ability to innovate and create.  Mars (the planet that defines how we assert our will and express our aggressive instinct) in his chart is in Aries, the sign which it rules.  That is an extremely forceful place for Mars to be; yet Jobs is a sensitive and easygoing Pisces.

Mars is afflicted in his chart: it is opposed by Neptune, the ruler of Pisces and a very watery planet – you know what happens when you pour a bucket of water (Neptune) over fire (Mars), the fire is likely to go out.  Mars is also in a challenging aspect to the Jupiter/Uranus combination, which shows that Jobs can have a very short fuse, but he may not, with his strongly Piscean nature, be able to release that fiery expression very easily.

It is said of Steve Jobs that he makes his own rules, which we can see in the Mars (drive) square to Jupiter/Uranus (radical behavior), and that is can be a temperamental manager which […]

Apple Inc News: Steve Jobs’ Mars Problem

Steve JobsSteve Jobs is the creative genius behind the Apple Computing brand.  After Jobs was forced out in 1985 the company floundered, reviving after he staged a takeover that brought him back as CEO.
