Venus in Pisces

2.25.21 Venus enters Pisces today to soften the hard edges

artist unknown?

On the heels of the Aquarius stellium, with its focus on energetic awakening and brilliance, Venus brings her beauty and softness into the sign of Pisces where she can be showered with fairy dust and magic.  Venus will be in Pisces until March 21st, giving us a few weeks to elevate our interactions with others and find true meaningful connection. This is a very romantic and idealized time and Venus is exalted in Pisces where she inspires us to connect from the deepest heart.  With Venus in Pisces life is a little more beautiful and a little more harmonious. Compassion (Pisces) between people (Venus) is another hallmark of the Venus/Pisces experience. With Venus entering Pisces, the electrical energy of the past couple of Uranian weeks will begin to smooth out the hard edges.

A harmonious sextile from the Pisces Sun to Uranus in Taurus today to excite us with new possibilities and an abundance of creative inspiration.  Three planets are in Pisces right now, encouraging the artist and mystic within all of us.  Awakened by the Aquarius stellium, we have an opportunity now to design our lives with a potent magic and intelligence.

Planetary news this week: The pressure releases

For me, the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn has felt like a vise of intense energy, putting on the squeeze until I finally let go.  For others, there have been life difficulties and changes such as Meghan Markle, whose chart is personally affected by the eclipse and the conjunction falling right on her ascendant, the need for change has been extreme.

As I have written before, events that occur during a conjunction of Saturn and Pluto usually leave a lasting effect and we may not know what that effect is until much later.  This conjunction has been particularly intense because of last week’s eclipse, and on Monday January 13th the Sun and Ceres line up exactly with Saturn and Pluto.  The presence of Ceres, the goddess of the nourishment of the Earth, suggests that our relationship to the Earth, including issues of population and climate change, is a critical piece of this Saturn/Pluto drama.  The intensity of the pressure of Saturn and Pluto will begin to fade, but the difficult questions and hard choices are likely to linger for at least another week or two.

The presence of the new planet Eris is likely to be significant too.  Eris represents discord – like the golden apple which started the Trojan War, Eris seems to represent the small events which create lasting chaos and transformation.  Eris is currently within a degree from an exact square to Saturn and Pluto, and as the Sun, Mercury and Ceres move through the degrees of that exact square to Eris these planets “translate” the alignment between Eris, Saturn and Pluto.  Continued chaos is likely, and on January 16th the square between Saturn and Eris […]

Venus turns retrograde March 4, 2017 – what does this mean for you?

Art by Immortalized Kaos Art by Immortalized Kaos

Venus usually slips through our lives like a whisper, and we barely experience her transits.  Her influence is usually soft and encouraging and I often say that we only really take notice when we experience discomfort of some kind.  Even the challenging transits of Venus are benign, offering us only an opportunity to indulge in greater indulgence.

Venus is famous for her influence on relationships.  As the goddess of love and beauty, she bestows an attractive power and grace, but that attractive power draws more than love.  It can also be a magnet for financial wealth and personal possessions so in that way, Venus is said to rule our values and the things that we love as well as the people. Venus also rules our ability to love and relate to our self, and the kind of talents and personal resources that we possess as well as the material possessions.

Venus is in Aries now, where she is more of a Warrior Queen than a cartoon sex goddess.  This befits her divine lineage, since the archetype of Venus descends from Ishtar, Inanna, Astarte – the goddesses of war and power as well as sex and love.  When Venus in Aries turns retrograde, she has some scores to settle.  Relationships from the past can be healed or resolved now, but confrontations may occur.  This is not a warm and fuzzy Venus retrograde in which we find our old friends on Facebook, but we can find real resolution here and true transformation of weak links in our links to those around us.  Venus retrograde periods are not ideal for beginning new relationships since we are looking back into the past rather than thinking […]

New Moon on Thursday

The Old Moon in the New Moon’s Arms

Thursday’s New Moon falls in Taurus on the afternoon of April 27. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, and represents all the sensual pleasures that life on earth has to offer: good food, comfortable clothing, soft touch. New Moons represent beginnings, and this New Moon squares the Saturn/Chiron opposition which is applying (coming together) until it is exact again for the second time in June. The Saturn/Chiron opposition puts pressure (Saturn) on us to face areas of our life that need healing (Chiron), and will challenge us to take seriously any new ventures that we begin now.

This New Moon will be a good time to honor the challenges and emotional crises we may be experiencing, particularly if the Saturn/Chiron opposition is affecting our own charts, while taking a step back and realize the perspective of a human being living on Planet Earth. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing. Farmers markets are open and we can take advantage of fresh fruits and vegetables. Taurus teaches that sometimes the simplest things are the ones that give us peace and serenity.

The expansion of Jupiter is nearly exactly trine the radical ideals of Uranus, so don’t be surprised if you encounter the unexpected, particularly during the next week. With Venus in sensitive Pisces moving into a square to the intensity of Pluto, though, relationships could be challenged. This is not a time to skim the surface – either dive in and get intense or take your space. Layers of the onion are peeling back and exposing what’s real right now.

As Robert Wilkinson writes,

[W}ithin the sphere of the New Moon influence, […]
