Venus opposite Saturn

7.6.21 – The last of the Mercury/Neptune confusion! And Venus as change agent

[art by Celestial Moon Fire Art] For some reason not mysterious given the nature of the post, this never posted and was never sent out to subscribers.  It’s a little late but I wanted it to go out anyway.

This Mercury retrograde has been exceptionally fraught with confusion and uncertainty, for me at least!  We can blame Neptune for that, since Mercury (mind and communication) has been in a square aspect cycle to mystical Neptune  since May 22, 2021.  Neptune has been virtually stationary for several months due to its retrograde turn on June 25th.  It’s tempting to try to gain control of situations in chaos, but the Neptune lesson is to let go and allow our life to unfold rather than try to control the details that may seem to be falling apart.  Neptune will remain stationary for the next month or so, meaning we will remain under its tutelage for some time, but in the meanwhile Mercury will be moving out of range of its fog and some level of clarity will resume.

We’ve been talking about how Mars (action) has activated the challenging square from Saturn to Uranus – the story of change which is the story of 2021 – and over the next few days Venus will soothe the rough edges wrought by Mars as it interacts with first Saturn today and then Uranus tomorrow.  Venus aspects are usually mild and serve to bring a touch of peace and beauty into a situation – something which is sorely needed right now!  Today and tomorrow are good days to focus on the things that are good and lovely in our world, and open our eyes to ways in which we can find greater balance and harmony. ❤️

7.7.21 – Healing and realignment under Venus

artist unknown?

The influence of  Venus is easily minimized because her transits are so fleeting, but if we remember that the predecessor of the Roman Venus was Inanna/Ishtar, the goddess of war and creation, we can see that her power is easily missed.  Venus presides over our values and the types of experiences we attract and draw to us.  So often in my practice people come to me asking “What should I be doing” and miss entirely the idea aligning their values to their desires and proceeding from there.

Mars also experiences desire but it’s more of a “smash and grab” type of thing.  We’ve been dealing with Mars over the past week or so, and now Venus comes in as the clean-up crew.  Ok, now we know we need to let go of something (the Saturn square to Uranus is making sure of that) – what is it that we want to manifest in its place?  The light of Venus shows the way over the next couple of days.  Today Venus makes a perfect trine to Chiron to facilitate healing, to bring our deepest pain to light and infuse it with the brilliance of soul wisdom so that we can let it go into the dark night.  Tomorrow a square from Venus to Uranus brings excitement of something new, and we want to be ready. ❤️

The refreshing mysteries of the Pisces Full Moon

This Full Moon in Pisces is a watery pool of magic!  In Pisces we see through the heart and the soul, using our amazing creative intelligence to unwrap gifts of consciousness from the Universal Mind. However, with the Pisces Moon opposite the Virgo Sun we may lose sight momentarily of the worldly details (Virgo) that keep us rooted on Planet Earth.  Pisces is a sign of magic and imagination, as well as mysticism and spirituality.  Under its influence we seek to merge into a feeling of bliss and unity with the One, but it can also be somewhat destabilizing in its watery call to realms unknown.  However, there is a great deal of Earth energy in the skies right now, with three planets in Capricorn and the Virgo Sun providing a balance point to help ground the Piscean mysticism into a mundane form to which we can more easily relate.

Embedded in the chart of the Full Moon is a harmonious trine from Uranus, planet of innovation and change, to the Sun (and a sextile to the Moon.  This Uranian aspect helps to break up a little of the earthy practicality and offers a taste of liberation and an opportunity for a paradigm shift. A trine from Mercury to Saturn offers even greater stability and diligent patience to assist in crystallizing the Piscean experience into something we can make practical use of.

We do have some potential stress from a challenging aspect between Venus (relating) and both Mars (self-orientation) and Saturn (solitude and tension) which could make personal relationships somewhat more difficult if we expect too much from others during this Full Moon.  Venus aspects typically last just a day or so, but when embedded in a lunar chart they […]

Curiosity and knowledge: Keys to the Sagittarius Full Moon, June 2014

The Sagittarius Full Moon takes place just after midnight on June 13th Eastern time.  The Moon in Sagittarius encourages us to expand our visions – to aim higher and gain greater understanding.

In Sagittarius we refuse to take no for an answer – suddenly we know that we can do and be more than we ever thought possible before. Like all Full Moons, the Sagittarius Moon will be exactly opposite the Sun in Gemini.   Gemini wants to embrace the entire world – Sagittarius chooses instead to learn and grow more deeply in knowledge.

In this Full Moon we seek to balance our curiosity and tendency to take the superficial road (Gemini) with the lunar desire to seek the greater truth.  Gemini’s ruler is Mercury, and Mercury is retrograde now.  Gemini has the tendency to take in too much data and become distracted, and the retrograde Mercury encourages this tendency which can make the expansion and focus process more difficult.  Balance and equilibrium between these two opposing forces is the key.

Venus is active now, harmonizing with Chiron to facilitate healing and wisdom in our relationships, and opposing Saturn to emphasize our obligations and responsibilities to the people around us.  The Sagittarius Full Moon seeks expansion and the freedom to pursue our dreams, and under  this combination of influences we may feel that our duties to others (Venus/Saturn) interfere with our soul’s need to be free to seek experiences that teach us (Gemini/Sagittarius). Mars challenges Pluto right now, potentially inflaming situations but also adding creative fire to everything we do.  A harmonious trine from Saturn to Chiron will help to soften the hard edges, healing the sore spots so that we don’t become stuck in the darkness.

Full Moons illuminate the darkness – now is the time to let your […]
