by Lynn Hayes Mitt Romney is widely recognized as a flip-flopper, but with three planets in Pisces (plus Ceres) it’s his nature to be adaptable. Pisces is the most watery of the water planets: Cancer is an earthy water and Scorpio is a fiery water, but Pisces is pure water in the sense that it tends to take the shape of whatever container it finds itself in. Pisces longs for peace and an understanding that there is more to life than this material world. There is a strong sense of empathy and sensitivity in someone who has a strong Pisces nature, but there is also a dislike of confrontation and a tendency toward escapism that can lead him to take the easy path rather than the one that is more true to his nature. Mars and Mercury fall in Pisces as well as his Sun, emphasizing the flexibility of the Piscean nature. Mercury in Pisces shows that his mental function is very watery and intuitive, as well as being flexible and adaptable. If something isn’t working, he has no problem changing his mind to fit the current circumstance. And Mars in Pisces is the peacemaker – the god of war in the sign of surrender. Mars, as the planet that expresses our will and desires, cannot find its full expression in the sign that seeks to merge with the great beyond and this further weakens Romney’s ability to assert himself strongly in any situation. Gemini, another adaptable (mutable) sign is rising in his chart. Gemini tends to be non-discriminating – each idea has as much value as the next. The important thing for someone with a strong Gemini is the collection of information and data, and then it’s up to the next person to sort it out. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and opportunity, and in Romney’s chart is makes a trine (harmonious aspect) to his Sun which is a very fortunate placement indicating that he has been blessed by good fortune and providing a strong faith in the natural beneficence of life. That Jupiter falls in Scorpio which is the one strong element of his chart; it gives him a charismatic appeal and a talent for handling money and power. His Sun and Mercury are squared by Uranus, the planet of individuality and radical change, which shows a rebellious streak and a tendency to think for himself. However, Mercury is retrograde in his chart (meaning it appeared to move backward at the time that he was born showing that he has difficulty expressing himself clearly. Romney has four traditional planets as well as Chiron in a retrograde position in the chart, a relatively strong retrograde influence. Retrograde planets tend to operate on a more hidden or internal level and can inhibit an individual from taking action to create a future. A strong retrograde influence may be more oriented towards the past and looking at past mistakes. One of Romney’s retrograde planets is Saturn, which is the planet of achievement, discipline and self-doubt; this suggests that the more negative aspects of Saturn are turned inward and reveals an intensely self-critical nature. Notably lacking in Romney’s chart is the presence of “cardinal,” or leadership signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn), and he has no earth signs in his chart which would ground him and offer a more structured sense of existence. He would be an inspirational leader in times of ease, but it would be difficult for him to unite a polarized nation. As I wrote in July, Romney has some exceptional planetary cycles in play at the time of the election, including an exact conjunction of his progressed (evolving) Sun to the progressed Midheaven (government) in the chart of the United States. This is a powerful connection that operates in the subconscious of the national experience and I think it would be a mistake to discount the possibility of a Romney win. [Disclosure: I am an Obama supporter.]

I love your insights and the way you explain the inner workings of a person. Great information Lynn on Mr. Romney, like you I too am an Obama supporter. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Thank you for sharing your insights Lynn, great article. We are blessed that you share your talents. I also support President Obama. Blessings
Lynn,
Great post. I was hoping you’d delve into Romney’s chart as it does provide a peek into his inner workings. This is why I LOVE reading your blog… always current issues, always sound astrology and no nonsense.
Great post, thanks,
Sue
Thanks Sue!
I love your posts. I particularly like your positive take on what are often viewed as “difficult” events/conjunctions etc. Thank you for doing this.
very insightful analysis of his personality
Thanks for the explanation of his horoscope. You help me understand so much more.
Thanks for all of your kind words! I am relieved not to have a lot of the flame throwing that usually accompanies a political post. :)
WELL WRITTEN. I HAVE DECIDED I NEED CHANGE, MITT WILL GET MY VOTE. I FEEL SO LET DOWN BY OBAMA… GAS AND FOOD R OUTRAGEOUS…I HAD TO CANCEL THE ANNUAL FAMILY VACATION… 1ST TIME IN 20 YEARS.. THAT’S UNACCEPTABLE
Lynn, I also greatly appreciate your interpretation of more difficult aspects. We are all cut from the same cloth and I strongly feel that we are all here to work through our individual challenges; even Mitt Romney!!! Since I have mostly fire and water in my chart it is to easy for me to fall into the political rhetoric of “Good” vs. “Evil” etc. I am a passionate supporter of President Obama and the thought of Romney winning is too frightening to think about. I have jokingly considered escaping to Canada if there is a Romney win!
If Obama’s Saturn Major period has started in 2012 then he has some chance to win.
Else if he is under the influence of Jupiter Rahu period then he may loose.
I agree, the astrology seems indefinite.
Romney is fated to be President at this time with progressed Sun conj. US midheaven.
Also Pisces is the fish that swims in both directions, shows the deeply divided nation
he will have to govern over.
Hi Lynn,
I enjoyed reading your description of Romney’s chart. While it is a little scary to anticipate his winning the election, I am holding onto my hope and vision to see Obama be reelected as well. Haven’t seen anyone do his chart yet but will look into that now.
Much gratitude! I know it must be an interesting thing to put your blog out there about this topic!
Hello Sue, I enjoyed reading your post on Romney. I’m a Ron Paul supporter and feel strongly that something isn’t quite right with these two candidates and the state of the union in general. Could it be possible that Romney has been hand picked for puppet I mean president? He’s adaptable, he dislikes confrontation, has a tendency toward escapism, takes the easy path rather than one true to his nature. flexible, has a watery & intuitive mental function, is again flexible and adaptable, has an inability to assert himself strongly, a charismatic appeal, is self-critical, has a talent for handling money and power, but lacks the presence of any leadership signs, and how convenient, he has exceptional planetary cycles in play at time of the election. It’s as though he was created for the very purpose. How does a man lacking leadership in his chart rise to potentially be the ultimate leader? Good fortune alone?
