Update: The heir is born! 4:24 pm GMT at the Full Moon! Scorpio rising with an 8th house Sun of Power. I will be writing more tomorrow morning so stay tuned.
The world has been watching Prince William and Kate Middleton as they wait for the birth of their first child. Kate went into labor this morning and it is likely that the new heir to the British throne will be born today, just after the Full Moon in Capricorn.
If the baby is born before 4 pm GMT she or he (the gender of the baby is still not known) will have the Sun at the last degree of Cancer. When the Sun is at the last degree of a sign there is a sense of transition, the ending of one phase of learning and completion of a cycle. A royal child with the Sun in this degree could see the end of the monarchy during their lifetime.
If the baby is born after 4 pm GMT the Sun will be in Leo, the sign of Kings and Royalty. That would be a fitting placement for the child of Will and Kate, who seem to have revived the love of the British people for their monarchy after a long period of personal scandal and economic woes. The Sun at 0 degrees Leo would signify a new phase of the royal line and a new beginning for the nation.
The Moon is also on the cusp today – a birth before 6 pm GMT will bestow a Moon at the last degree of Capricorn, and after 6 pm the Moon will be in Aquarius. A Capricorn Moon would signify someone who is determined and somewhat conservative – the Aquarius Moon will be a forward thinker, the ideal leader for the coming age.
In any case, this child will be a bit of a warrior, with Mars (planet of warfare and aggression) tightly aligned with Jupiter (expansion and optimism) – she/he will be very family oriented and interested in preserving the lineage with at least three planets in Cancer (and four if the Sun is also in Cancer).
Any child born during this period in which Uranus (revolution) and Pluto (destruction and regeneration) are entwined in their dance (see the sidebar for more information on this cycle if this is new to you) will have this dynamic embedded in their chart. This generation will possess a passionate drive to create change and bring justice to the world.
The chart of the royal heir will also embody the 2013 Grand Trine in Water with its heightened intuition and ease of feeling. There is a tendency towards self-indulgence with this Grand Trine, but the more challenging aspects in the chart will help to overcome this tendency in favor of a more dynamic approach to life and social change.
This is just a preview – I will post more as soon as we have a birth!

thx Lynn, most informative and enjoyable!!!
It is a bit exciting to have a new heir. So many maybes. We will have to wait until we have baby feet on the ground. I hope it’s a girl and I think it would be over the top cool if they incorporated Diana’s name into the baby’s name. I know it would frost the Queen and what’s her name, the cow, Charles has always entangled himself with. ??? Camilla.
I totally agreed with you! “ONCE A CHEATER IS ALWAYS A CHEATER” and Charles did that before he was even married. Marriage is a holy sacrament.
Camilla definitely looks like a witch.
Eager to hear what you have to say! The chart I ran for the 4:24 GDT birth, London, shows Sun in late Cancer, moon in late Capricorn and Scorpio rising. 4 planets in the 8th. Of course Uranus/Pluto. But lots of trines. Looks to be a very interesting guy!

What if he’s an only child whose openly gay and refuses to get married to produce an heir?
That would definitely mean the end of the House of Winsor.
Oh, come now, Roderick! :) Just because a person is gay or lesbian doesn’t mean their reproductive capabilities are nonfunctional. I do take your point, but plenty of us have kids by being a little creative, or even making an unfortunate choice of ooposite-sex mates in the past. And I can’t help but snark at Mareni’s comment above about the “holy sacrament” of marriage. That sure hasn’t stopped straight people from divorcing in droves, yet it’s the height of immorality, some say, for two persons of the same gender to want to marry the love of their life. *eyeroll*
Kieron, I never said that gays can’t have children but I was just tossing out some possibilities as to why Lynn’s hypothetical could be fulfilled.
Remember Queen Elizabeth’s uncle abdicated because as King of England he was also the Head of the Church of England and he chose to marry a divorced woman who had had at least one abortion he chose love over the throne.
If the new prince is gay he could chose to abdicate so he could live his life openly but not be a public figure.
Ran the info thru astrotheme.com and I got Leo/Cappy with Sag on the rise. But I will take your word over a program, Lynn and I look forward to your interpretation!
A little confused!
Britain is currently one hour ahead under BST, so is not the declared 4.24pm time actually 3.24pm GMT as opposed to your stated 4.24pm GMT?
Apologies in advance if your calculations have already factored in the one hour deduction and GMT was simply a typo?
